From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
Could not see the game, how did Bak do? From what I read so far about Love he reminds me of B.Brohm back then. And we know how that ended.
The starting offensive line at times gave Rodgers like 8 seconds to throw the ball. They looked really good.
Josh Meyers had one play where he got beat on a 3 man rush which was really bad. Starting offense was fantastic to start the game but then really fizzled out their next 2 to three drives.
1. Vanilla offense.
2. Lackluster defense.
3. Subs to go to all position groups.
4. Nothing to gain by winning this game.
5. Too many players who would've been motivated to not get hurt.
My opinion is that it would take a whole lot of convincing that the Packers brought their A-game to Detroit. It just didn't happen. Therefore, I'm not going to harp on the D or Love or anybody else for this game. It was hardly better than any training camp practice. My suggestion is that we should all relax for the next two weeks.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!
The year is 2023. Love has started 18 games in his career. in 2022, love started every game and went 4-13. No evaluations have been made about Love yet. In start one, he was on the road. For 9 games of 2022 he was on the road, so it is not fair to evaluate him in those games, environment too hostile. In the first 4 home games of 2022 the weather was warm, and no GB QB plays good in the warmth...so it is not fair to evaluate him in those games. In the last 4 home games, 2 starters on the offense were out hurt..one starting linemen and one WR. It is not fair to evaluate Love when he does not have a full cast of teammates.
Hopefully in 2023 we can start to see what he have in the 4th year, former first round draft selection.
It took Rodgers 4 seasons before he went 4-12, so Love would be ahead there!
Rodgers never went 4-12.
My bad. 6-10. But then, Love hasn't achieved his 4-13 yet either.

Truth. I think MLF just wanted to get some work in to avoid 3 full weeks off without any major injuries and it looks like he accomplished that. Yeah wish the team had played better but it is what it is and we see this quite often when teams have nothing to play for.
All in all, this game will have zero impact on what will happen in January than position coaches having some film on individual performances that they can coach on.

Yep, this. Mission accomplished this week.
I won't do any hand wringing over a loss that saw conservative calls in the gameday inactive list, apparent less-than-thorough focus on scouting and defensive scheming for an opponent, and widespread substitutions throughout the game. Yeah, I still think we can be critical of individual performances but I'm not getting my underoos in a wad over a meaningless L in the books that, in some eyes, somehow lessens what MLF has accomplished statistically in his three years.
Honeslty not totally sure we escaped it depending on the news from MVS. It sure would be nice to have him in 2 weeks. That go route softens the Defense.
They did say Bahk was pulled earlier than planned due to exhaustion. And the next couple days will be telling to see how his knee responds to game action.
Just consistently 5+ pressures a game for Gary. Crazy.

He is peaking in the backfield far too much. I really hope LaFleur's public comment about players doing their job was directed at him.

I hope this is another data point that shows the FO the importance of high level ILB play, and it should be seen as essential to acquire even if at a higher cost. I remember a discussion where some went in the direction that says Campbell would reinforce the FOs idea that they can keep plugging and playing and find ILB anywhere at a cheap cost...I really hope they took a different lesson...and that is that no matter the cost...this defense needs quality ILB play.

Campbell saved this defense.
Yeah. Priority signs for me this off-season is Campbell and Douglas. Everything else may fall as it may.
