From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
you keep insinuating that the Chi town Bears, and the detwoat Lions will always be who they have been the last 35 to 60 years respectively speaking, both are in the process of over hauling coaches, GM's and FO people, not sure I expect a status quo future with either team.
Something they've done multiple times and still haven't gotten better. Until they prove they can create a team that compete with use for more than a year or 2, there's no cause for concern. Will worry about it if/when it happens. Goes for all 3 teams in the division.
Yeah, other than a quick flash in the pan/luck, no team has any real sustained success and likely won't until the culture changes. No real indication that has changed anywhere, outside of maybe Detroit. But I'll believe that when I see it. No guarantee the changes will be for the better.
I know both clubs have had a revolving door at both coach and GM positions, but if this is true the Bears will be finally switch out Phillips who has run the football part of operation since 83, so thats a pretty big switcharoo. I think the same might be happening in Detroit.

Yes, Detroit made some bigger changes, looks like Chicago maybe too.
Change isn't always positive though or at the root of the problem, but it seems like as long as the McCaskey family owns the bares, they will officially remained owned my Mr. Rodgers.

your probably right, I read about these Detroit and Bears FO changes being possible a month ago, it's a step in the right direction, look at the affects putting Harlan in charge did for us.
I'm very sad to see the Vikings and Bears fired their GMs.
I was shocked that the Vikes fired Spielman, I've considered there drafts to be pretty good.
I expected a house cleaning from the Bears, instead they continue to keep Phillips on, selecting the new GM and coach, or basically the same rinse and repeat process they do every few years now since like forever, there board of directors resemble the Packers board from back in the 70's and 80's, as long as the team turns a profit they couldn't care less.
did ya read the article from there retired all pro center Olin Kruse? the Bears wanted to hire him to do some PR stuff and offered him 15.00 a hr after he told them to !@#$ up a rope, he said the problem with the Bears is they wont pay for talent, so everyone leaves as soon as they can, granted he sounds like a whinny and under appreciated player, which could be true, and they did pay out the cazoo for Kalil Mack, so he must mean they wont pay average to a tad better starters.
yep, I'am with you, we shouldn't have to worry about the Bares in the near future.
Flores is overated. Yeah, him and Bill O'brien are the only decent Belichick assistants (although McDaniels could be good if given another opportunity). But that doesn't make him good. I would not have fired him, but all this nonsense about him being some great HC who we need to fear is some dumb media hype-driven take. The media loves him, but he showed nothing special.
The dude yanked Fitzpatrick while they were comfortably winning in order to go with Tua, who clearly was inferior. And it cost them the playoffs. Yeah they had a nice win streak this year (after losing 7 in a row which is something idk if the Packers have ever done in my entire life). But here's who those wins came against: Texans, Jets, Jets, Giants, Panthers, Saints (with Ian Book). So, cry me a river. He's not to be feared.
More to the Bears, the fact that their HC and GM could be on the hot seat, and they allowed them to give up a 2022 1st rounder to move up and get a QB just shows the pure disconnect between management and the front office. Now some GM is gunna be forced to work with a QB they didn't take for 2-3 years minimum and doesn't have a first rounder this year.
Yeah, not even gunna be worried if they get Bill Belicheck.
I know fans of every team say they are grateful for being a fan.
But the one thing Packers fans have over the other 31 teams is our unique ownership structure.
On days like this I'm so happy we're not owned by a geriatric millionaire or some vile oil baron.
This is patently embarrassing. What's more it seems like Bears are supposed to feel proud or some kind of attachment to the family currently running their team into the ground.
What is funny from a British perspective is, all millionaire families act like football aristocracy, with inept children inheriting from their parents.
Thankfully the Packers get to hire the best and the brightest to lead the organisation, not some weird bloodline $%@#.

Well, alot of coaches are probably happy to come into a situation with Justin Fields already on the roster.

Was just about to say that never works out, although we did hire Mike McCarthy the year after we drafted ARod.
I have a friend who does some "part time" coaching of da Bear kicking players. He had his photos of himself with Nagy and their GM on his SM yesterday. I know he helped da Bears kicking quite a lot and enjoyed it immensely. But now, his "part time" gig is probably over. I feel bad about his situation. But I know that was never his main thing. Now, I need to lure him to GREENer pastures! I know the rest of his family is Packer-true and faithful.
:-)
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!
Who are the top GM candidates? Which programs have talent to spare? I feel like I don't know some of these teams like I used to. I wonder if Eliot Wolf gets some sniffs or if he is officially and forever off the radar.
Out of curiosity, I went searching for Eliot Wolf news to see if he's getting any GM attention. Surprised to find he is now employed by the Patriots. I thought he and Alonzo Highsmith were both still employed by the Browns. Turns out they both moved on from their accompanied move to Cleveland after short stays - Wolf to NE and Highsmith to Seattle.
Anyway, the only link to a potential GM position I noted for Wolf was one of those "list of potential candidates for next Black Monday cycle" type articles. As far as I can see, he's not gotten any takers. I imagine he won't be long ignored, though, if being a part of Belichick's staff is any indication. They've bled FO staff for years. As he rises through the NE ranks, I'm sure he'll enter the annual open GM derby sooner or later. Probably sooner if the Patriots continue their short turnaround rebuild.
