From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
It’s not really “poaching” per se, more like Hackett hoping to work with the same people he’s had success with in the past.
…by, you know, poaching the staff of his former boss. How is that not per se?
When Lafleur left Tennessee. He didn’t raid Vrables kitchen. Like I said, maybe it is normal...but I haven’t seen examples of it that I can recall. I know sometimes guys have one guy they come in with, and then leave with...like Mike McDaniel with Shanny in San Fran, but none of our guys came in with Hackett like that.
It's possible that he's not and staff changes, as usual, will just be announced in one press release. Also possible that he won't be and LaFleur just has a million other things going on with the coaching staff.
Also possible he will continue to remain and I will have to shoot myself into the sun.
Who knows what's going on in the front office? Murphy, Ball, Gutey, LaFleur .....maybe they're still in shock from the disgusting / disappointing loss to the 49ers. Wondering why LaFleur is still employed?
I honestly don't care if we're losing Getsy. I mean, I'd rather not, but the Bears are probably envisioning him turning Justin Fields into Aaron Rodgers, and that'll be pretty funny to watch because Fields sucks.
Bares: "So we want you to do whatever it is you did with Rodgers to develop him"
Getsy:
Getsy: *sits on the sidelines and lets Fields do whatever he wants*
It's not like Getsy had any role in making Rodgers into a great QB. If anything Rodgers has been worse than he was pre-Getsy. But he probably actually had almost no effect.
Well ya but that was poaching from a rival. I am not saying it isnt par for the course...i just dont recall a coach leaving and trying one after another to build his staff off his old teams staff. Seems like a middle finger to Lafleur. Maybe it is normal tho.
I think It depends on the contract status. Most assistant coaching contracts are three years. The MLF staff just finished their third year. So a lot of these guys are free agents. If they’re free, you’re more likely to bring guys along than of they’re under contract.
