Hot off the press ....... read it on the internet so it must be true

There is also an interesting scheduling quirk late in the 2022 NFL season. This year, both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on a Sunday. Therefore, it’s expected that to avoid playing a full slate of games on Christmas Day, the 2022 NFL schedule release will have the main slate of games played on Saturday, December 24, with one or two games played on Christmas Day. In contrast, New Year’s Day will see the NFL play a traditional Sunday slate.

This is what they did in 2016. I can easily see them doing it again.

In 2016 there was one primetime night game on Christmas eve. And 2 games (1 afternoon and 1 evening) on Christmas Day.

The "home" team is allowed to block certain matches from moving. Speculation is it will be the Jets or Giants in London.

There were 12 games on Christmas eve, Dec, 24th in 2016. One night game, The Bengals and Texans, and the other 11 were played during the afternoon. Including Vikings at Lambeau.

Gotta keep this thread alive as we await the schedule to be released which likely will not occur until after the draft. What are people's home opener desires now that the Packers #1 QB is established for 2022?

Patriots, Jets, Bears, Lions, Vikings, Cowboys, Titans, Rams

How about the Vikings this time? Get 'em out of the way ASAP so we can focus on way more intriguing games, i.e,, Dallas, New England, Tennessee, Los Angeles. Not Duh Bears, Lions or the J-E-T-S jets jets jets (maybe the J-E-T-S jets jets jets because the game will be played overseas).

WIN THE NORTH. :aok:

As expected, 2022 ticket prices increased.

Variable pricing again will be used for preseason and regular-season games. With the increases, tickets in respective areas in 2022 will cost:

· End zone seats – $62 for preseason, $123 for regular season (in 2021, prices were $58 and $118, respectively).

· South end zone, 700 Level – $63 for preseason, $125 for regular season (in 2021, prices were $61 and $121, respectively).

· South end zone, 600 Level – $67 for preseason, $134 for regular season (in 2021, prices were $64 and $129, respectively).

· End zone to the 20‐yard line – $71 for preseason, $141 for regular season (in 2021, prices were $69 and $134, respectively).

· Between the 20-yard lines – $78 for preseason, $156 for regular season (in 2021, prices were $74 and $149, respectively).

Go Pack ......... Go to the bank! :beer2:

May Day May Day. May Day May Day.

OK, now that the NFL Draft is behind us (great job Gutey and staff) ........ and the schedule release is said to be imminent -- imminent meaning trickled out via fact and rumors between May Day May Day and May 12th on NFL Network at 7:00 p.m. Green Bay time (if that is still a fact). The Packers-Giants London game date is expected to be released on May 4. The first Packers home game opponent is expected to be released on May 12 at 5:00 p.m. Green Bay time.

Here's a reminder of our opponents:

Home: CHI, DET, MINN, NYG (in London), NYJ, Rams, Patriots, Cowboys, Titans

Away: CHI, DET, MINN, Eagles, Washington Commanders, Bills, Dolphins, Buccaneers.

The first Packers regular season game will be on September 11, 2022. One internet site (footballdiehards.com) states that the Packers BYE WEEK will be week 13 which is December 4th. The last game of the regular season is on January 8, 2023. The Super Bowl is February 12, 2023. The Wild Card rounds will be Jan 14-16, 2023. The Divisional round games will be Jan 21-22, 2023.

Looking forward to the NFC Championship Game at Lambeau Field on January 29, 2023. Plan for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff time in Green Bay. GO PACK GO!

That rumor is so wrong.

Our bye week will follow our London game.

I would be very surprised if they have international games in December.

So I tend to believe BF more than Ringo on this one.

:rotfl:
A Week 5 London game would likely be a GOLD PACKAGE game which makes sense as well as the Packers already stated that the London game is a GOLD PACKAGE game. So if the London Game is Week 5, and BF is right about the BYE WEEK occuring after the London game ........ I can believe it for sure.

Scrap the WEEK 13 BYE WEEK notion ..... then. In 2021 the Packers BYE WEEK was Week 13.......which has no relevance to 2022.

Bring on the Cowboys!! :rodeo:

If this is TMI ............ then this is TMI. If not.......then this is not TMI. 8-)

GREEN & GOLD PACKAGE SCHEDULING

A preset formula assigns the Gold Package with one preseason game in odd numbered years and one preseason game in every other even numbered year, unless there is an international game. The formula also assigns the second and fifth games played at Lambeau Field during the regular season home schedule. The Green Package receives one preseason game in odd numbered years and one preseason game in every other even numbered year, unless the Packers are designated to play an international game. The formula also assigns the first, third, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth games played at Lambeau Field during the regular season home schedule. In seasons when Lambeau Field hosts a ninth regular-season home game, the Gold and Green Package will alternate which package receives the ninth game. The NFL determines the date, time and opponent of the games in the spring of each year.

17-GAME REGULAR-SEASON AND INTERNATIONAL GAME SCHEDULING FORMULA

As part of the enhanced NFL schedule that includes 17 regular-season games and three preseason games each year, the NFL began a new scheduling formula for international contests. This formula determined that beginning with the 2022 season, up to four of the teams from the conference whose teams were eligible for a ninth regular-season home game would instead be designated to play a neutral-site international game each year.

The international scheduling formula will impact the Packers during the 2022 season, with the recent announcement that the League has designated the Packers to play a regular-season game in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

As a reminder, the NFC and AFC alternate hosting either nine regular-season games and one preseason game (the "9-1" schedule) or eight regular season games and two preseason games (the "8-2" schedule). In odd numbered years, the Packers have the "8-2" schedule. In even numbered years, including this coming season, it will be the Packers' turn to have the "9-1" schedule. Because the NFL has designated the Packers to play one of the nine games internationally, Lambeau Field will host eight regular-season games and one preseason game in 2022. The international scheduling format has now begun an eight-year cycle, which means the Packers will not be designated to play another international game until 2030. However, the team may serve as an opponent for other teams that are designated to play internationally during the eight-year window.

To ensure that this format is equitable for each season ticket package, neither package will be impacted when it comes to their allotment of regular-season games when the Packers play internationally. Gold package will continue to receive two regular-season games and Green package will continue to receive six regular-season games. With only one preseason game with the "9-1" schedule, Green package will receive the preseason game hosted at Lambeau Field this season.

Moving forward, when the NFC next has the "9-1" schedule in 2024, the Gold package will receive the ninth home game at Lambeau Field, and the Green package will receive the preseason game. In 2026, when the NFC has the "9-1" schedule again, it will be the Green package holders' turn to receive the ninth home game at Lambeau Field, and the Gold package will receive the preseason game.

NFL FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING

"Flexible scheduling" will be used in Weeks 11-18. Additionally, in Weeks 5-10, flexible scheduling may be used in no more than two weeks. In Weeks 5-17, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time.

For Week 18, two Saturday games and the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to January 9. The schedule does not list Saturday games or a Sunday night game in Week 18, but games with playoff implications will be moved to those time slots. Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives "surprise" teams a chance to play their way into primetime.

Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games airing on Thursday or Monday nights.

Yes, it's official now. Packers versus Giants will be October 9th in London. Apparently kickoff is 8:30 a.m. Central Time.

I have read that there are already 1000+ people on the EVENTUSA waiting list.

This game seems to shaping up to be bigger than a Packers playoff game :aok:

Apparently tickets go on sale in June sometime
