Concur. He's a good player.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑16 Mar 2022 12:18Washington set to release DL Matt Ioannidis and I know we're tight with the cap but if he's cheap after release I want him. Super underrated and good. Like a rich man's Dean Lowry.

Hey ... the Browns are the BrownsBF004 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2022 09:46Browns looking real rough.
Releasing Tretter, OBJ, Landry and Austin Hooper all in like 4 months from the offense.
Then take on a stupid Amari Cooper contract.
They look all but done with Baker Mayfield who is on his 5th year option.
I don’t think Stefanski has much of a chance to make it past year 3, may not be much his fault.

Chris Godwin gets a 3-year $60 Million deal.
So that's
$20M/year for Mike Williams (3 year, $60 M) - $40 M guaranteed (67%) over the first 2 years
$20M/year for Chris Godwin (3 year, $60 M) - $40 M guaranteed (67%)
$18M/year for Christian Kirk (4 year, $72M) - $37M guaranteed (44%) over the first 2 years
All three of these are brand new deals, not extensions, so there's no "new money/new years vs. total value" debate to be had.
The WR franchise tag value this year is $18.4 million (Adams' is higher because being tagged mandates a 20% increase over the prior year cap value).
Are any of these guys even top 10 WR talents in the league?
I think the answer is no, but people might have feels about that--I mean Godwin does have a 80+ catch, 1300+ yard season in only 14 games a couple years back and did 98 for 1100 in 14 games this past year. But I don't think anyone is confusing him for Adams, Kupp, Diggs, Hopkins, or Hill anytime soon. Not to mention the young gun phenoms like Chase and Jefferson and Deebo.

I’m hoping for a 4 for 96. Although I usually undershoot these, so prolly 4 for 108 coming up.

Is it just me, or does it seem like there’s more mad money floating around this year than ever? Some really crazy contracts and paychecks.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!
Nah. Still some crazy stuff for sure. But doesn't hold a candle to any year Albert Haynesworth got a new deal. Seems back then it was worse.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑16 Mar 2022 23:13Is it just me, or does it seem like there’s more mad money floating around this year than ever? Two years of constrained cap growth (well, one year of decline, actually), and a massive, well-founded expectation of gigantic cap growth coming up will definitely mean a lot of free agents available who normally wouldn't be... and a lot of teams feeling comfortable giving out big, backloaded deals.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑16 Mar 2022 23:13Is it just me, or does it seem like there’s more mad money floating around this year than ever? I agree it's not too different from the beforetimes, but it feels like more of an explosion after 2 years of basically a flat cap (I mean the cap was 198.5M in 2020 and is only 208.5 in 2022)
Sounds like its between Falcons and Saints for Watson. Saints is a slightly better spot for success, but neither are great options. But Atlanta is close to home for him I guess. Very curious to see what the compensation will be for him. And then how long he gets suspended for.

I think the whole "who is primed for immediate success" conversations are super silly. This isn't a late-career acquisition. This is the start of a whole era. This year's roster is not the deciding factor. After being in Houston, this guy has to want a stable and well-run team, certainly. And he'll probably want some receiving weapons around. But I don't think "win now" is the deciding factor, especially since he's going to have a suspension this year.paco wrote: ↑17 Mar 2022 10:09Sounds like its between Falcons and Saints for Watson. All sources indicate the compensation will be historic, though; 3 firsts and at least a player and more. And from the sounds of it, the offers are meeting that criteria.
I'm a little sad it's not the Browns, because AFC and because it would set off so many more fun dominos. But the Browns definitely fail the "well-run organization" test
lets see now, do I give a player surely to be suspended indefinatly the keys to the thrown and pay 3 first and change to get him, or pay 50 mil. for a QB that has proven his worth and to the best of my knowledge never raped or beat up any woman a better thrown, I think I'll pick choice #2
It's probably safe to say Rodgers wont punch out Woodley for saying NO, and it's logically possible that Watson will continue his abusive mannerisms, that stuff doesn't just up and disappear, I'd bank that Rodgers finishes this contract and that Watson doesn't.

Doesn't the potential number of years left have to figure into that?

So Z is not signing with the ravens. Strange. Is the back that messed up and he didn't pass a physical?? Maybe he floats around and we can get him back on a 1 year cheap cheap. Or maybe the bridge is burned
It's reported Smith changed his mind. So I don't think it got to the point of a physical. Run it back on a 1 year deal with us!Backthepack4ever wrote: ↑17 Mar 2022 14:00So Z is not signing with the ravens. Strange. Is the back that messed up and he didn't pass a physical?? Baker Mayfield requesting a trade. Browns are saying nope (because they missed out on all the better options).

My guess is he saw what Von Miller got and decided he was worth more than 4yrs/$35 mil.Backthepack4ever wrote: ↑17 Mar 2022 14:00So Z is not signing with the ravens. Strange. Very possible. Reports that the Cowboys were interested too. May have gotten better offers.APB wrote: ↑17 Mar 2022 14:50My guess is he saw what Von Miller got and decided he was worth more than 4yrs/$35 mil.Backthepack4ever wrote: ↑17 Mar 2022 14:00So Z is not signing with the ravens. Robinson to the Rams for MUCH less than Mike Williams and Kirk Cousins is wild wild bad news for the NFC
