NFL QB Carousel

With all the QB movements around the league, thought it'd be interesting to hear who we think has the best chance for success in their new home or new full-time starting role?

For conversations sake, who do you also see as the biggest mistake by a GM?

Is there a situation where Jordan Love or Jimmy Garoppolo get traded to the right team and become the favorite? Explain.

Also, if you feel a rating more relatable to trade/contract cost should weigh heavily in the measurement of success, by all means state your case.

*I took the liberty of assuming Winston as the full-time starter (minus Hill) in New Orleans, and Lance will start in San Francisco. Also, Mills was added as Houston's new presumed full-time starter.

Hackett will revive Russ Wilson in Denver imo. Great spot for both parties to succeed.

I picked Ryan, but its close between him and Wilson. Wilson's got the better group to work with right now admittedly.

I went with Ryan because Wilson has significant pressure to be the "franchise savior", and he's got a first-time head coach.

Ryan just has to be slightly better than Wentz and, in theory, they're in the playoffs.

I lean Wilson as seeing the greatest success. That defense and running game will keep the pressure off him but when they need him, I think he has the weapons to score.

From a cost/performance perspective, I think Trubisky might end up to be the best value signing. He has the tools. Maybe a year learning from a similar style QB while sitting in Buffalo did him some good. I’m quietly rooting for him.

I’ve started questioning Matt Ryan as a quality QB a few years now. He just doesn’t seem to have it any longer. The dude still makes rookie level mistakes from time to time also. If the Colts are expecting a Matt Stafford type impact, they’re gonna be rudely surprised.

I honestly don’t get the Browns. All that money, cap, and fan heat for a QB on a run-first team. The only thing I can figure is it’s more of the Jimmy Haslem stir-the-fanbase-and-make-money nonsense. They could have saved themselves a lot of money and trouble by just offering a 4th for Garoppolo.

Speaking of Garoppolo, I’m beginning to think the 49ers may be in the same spot the Packers find themselves with Love. They basically put a succession plan in place last year but I get the sense Lance just isn’t ready. With the radio silence on Garoppolo, I’m beginning to think they may ride him for another season with the hope Lance comes around.

I will predict only one of them will make the playoffs. Which one? Don't know. But If I had to put money on it, Ryan.

The cynical counter-argument is maybe AR saw DA’s imminent departure as leverage to squeeze the organization for yet another larger, record-setting piece of the Packers cap share. One less superstar on the roster means a larger slice of pie for the remaining bigs.
