A question every GM has asked themselves concerning Kaepernick: is the public headache that comes with signing him as a backup worth the very likely significant fan pushback when I can roster any one of 60+ other backup level players without any sort of public fuss?

If he was a viable starting upgrade, he would've been signed. He'd be worth the headache in the same way teams were willing to take on the Deshaun Watson headache. Kaep isn't in the same conversation as a Watson, though. He has clearly been deemed not worth the headache relative to what he offers a new team in talent upgrade.
he has more experience, has a high football IQ and was a better alternative then those 15 on the list and even the half doz others that barely toped the 60% threshold Kaep usually had, NO, there has been a concerted effort to make sure Kaepernick never plays in the NFL again, they screwed him simply because they could, and there is a name for that.

and it's not the GM's it's the owners, you know the guys that do actually make these decisions, teams can absorb trivia, hell the league and owners just weathered another racial storm with there lack of tact with over looking far more qualified A A's as HC's and front office people, they sure as hell could weather the hiring of Kaep, quit inventing excuses.
Your actions have consequences in your work. Sorry, it's true. Like it or not. And you have no idea if he has a better football IQ than any one of those 15. If you do, what's your source? He screwed himself. Tell us, how long would you last at work with a Nazi armband on your arm? You would be given a choice, take it off or go home. Sure it's your first amendment right. But try it, see what happens.

Guess what, the NFL is free to hire and fire who they want. If Kaep was a better QB maybe a team would have signed him. The fact is, he sucks as a QB. What part of that is so hard to understand? He's a sub .500 QB. He went 8-8 with the 10 best scoring defense in the NFL. And that was his best year at QB. But if you think for one moment 21 TD's is good year, yeah, give him a chance. That was his best year for TDS. 21. You would be gong &%$@ if Rodgers only threw 21 TD's on the year.
blah blah blah, you keep grading Kaep as though he would have to be a starter to be a NFL player, he was not asking to be that, not only was he a better alternative then those 15 from the 61 from the article, he was more then likely a better option as a backup then most of the backups in the league, certainly more ready to play then most including Love.

the nazi arm band was real funny, just admit it Raptor, you hated that he did what he did for a worth while cause, and we can let it go at that.

really, never new that, thanks for the heads up, any particular reasons for his reasons why he declined? teams he wouldn't accept a backup job with?

Broncos offered him back up money and a back up spot. Colin Declined.
I have heard the seahawks did something similar.

thanks, thing is look at the situation, why would he take a cut in pay and that was 5 years ago.

Funny that Elway would hold a grudge after he held out and wouldn't play for the Colts the team that drafted him.

Kaep was 1-10 his final season as a starter. Thats a good reason to take a paycut so one can continue their career.

and just look at the roster the niners built as a result of tanking during Kaeps last year

if there was an intentional tank going on, to keep Kaep at the QB position during that tank...implies that he sucks and was the perfect QB to successfully carry out a tank job.

Yikes, Winston and Hurts in the top half?

Don’t really disagree with anything too much. The AFC West might be better than the entire NFC.

Dak belongs #4. Good enough to win the NFC East with a difficult owner and a so so coaching staff. Dak plays on a team that hasn't won a NFCCG since 1995.

What I don't get is the order of #7 to #16. Mariotta could arguably be #7 or #8.

8 through 16 are a complete toss up. All guys who haven't done anything yet or know you don't want.

I'll give you Mariota at 8, then the rest. But NFC is crap for qb.
