To move up from 29 to 23 or 24 isn't that expensive if you want two guys at 22...

I too question Burks athleticism, but he just runs away from people on tape, so the speed thing is hard to assess.

I'd be happy with DL, CB, S, OT, or WR in the first round. That is where the value is going to be, I think.

just saw a mock with 2 QB's going top 10, it drives Thibodeaux to slot 12, we trade our #28 and 3rd rounder to jump up and take him,

1 QB... he still falls. Also, the trade is #22 and our high 2nd-rounder... to Minnesota. Yuck to all of this.

If those are my choices I trade down even if I have to give up value. Only player in that list that was worth taking at 22 is not likely to play at all next season.

I like Burks, but not at 22.

If you don't think there is any players worth taking at #22....what makes you think another team is willing to trade up just to also draft a player deemed worthless to take at #22?

what? don't quit your day job, this is a strong top tier, gonna run into the teens easily, cripes there are 5 or 6 edge rushers alone worth #22.
come on Skeptic don't let your user name define you :thwap:

I would have dropped Andrew Booth and slotted Dax Hill at slot 10 again to make GPG a happier camper today :rotf:

I was laughed at with my conspiracy theory concerning McGinn the other day, but I think that is whats going on with Thibo deaux, I've often felt these type of rumors are started by teams interested in drafting a player, all it takes is a rumor to float around and that players draft stock plummets.

I voted London over Burks, just because I have a feeling that's how the Packers board looks.

I can't say too much on Booth, but that could be an option along with Hill (but I doubt it). I don't see the Packers going OG in the 1st, or ILB (especially with Campbell back). Dotson may be off the board due to size. Wyatt is too old for the 1st and Ojabo's injury takes him off the list for 22 (not necessarily 28).

Other teams might need a guard. Or a QB or a RB. The Packers don't.

You cats are assuming Chris Olave is gone at 22?

I don't assume that. And if you don't think Olave is a WR the Packers should draft then you don't have a clue.

Exactly what LaFleur looks for in a WR. Olave has the speed to take the top off a defense. Elite/polished route runner. Great hands. High quality individual. Olave can be your #1.

If you are saying Olave doesn't fit Gute's big WR drafting history. Gute likes big WRs it's true, but it's not like Olave is small(like Gute draft pick Amari Rodgers) Olave is 6'1 190. He can add just a touch of weight and strength when he gets with Gizz in Green Bay.

Olave at 22 would be ideal. It could happen. Just gotta get him by the Saints.

welcome to the forum :aok:

I tend to agree, but some of us feel that of these top receivers Olave is the closest to his ceiling, imo other then Wilson, Olave is the most ready to play, Williams may be the best if not for the injury he may have been picked first, London with coaching and refinement could be really special, to me, of the 5 most highly rated, Burks will drop to the end of round one, a team has to have a niche for Burks, has to use a lot of run play action, mis direction, jet sweeps, basically a team like ours, with that in mind I hope Burks drops to us at slot 28  I must say though, I have my doubts about that, everyone needs WR's 6 even 7 could go in the first, and another half doz in round two.

So, you are saying Olave is the best WR in the draft, but won't get better in the NFL? Interesting take, but I disagree. He is by far the best route runner in the draft and the scary part is he can only get better.

I think saying a WR has hit his ceiling before he even gets in the NFL is silly. The most NFL ready is not a negative. And Chris Olave can grow in LaFleur's offense and get even better. Plus, you get big production out of him in 2022.

I don't know about the best, but he is up there. Check out Skyy Moore a little more closely. 8-)

Oh, and big welcome to the forum. Always great to see new ideas on the board!!

I like Skyy Moore, but he is more of a slot WR. I think the Pack has that covered with Cobbie and Amari Rodgers. Some kind of write off Amari, but I feel he will have a bigger role in the offense this season. He wasn't quite ready yet as a rook. It happens.

I am big on Chris Olave and Christian Watson. The Pack pulls those 2 out of this draft and I will be doing cartwheels.

Nice, Bit of toughy. I'd say right now I am probably here:

Tier 1

Tier 2
Treylon Burks - WR - Kind of at the top due to process of elimination, fewest warts if you will. I think he is the best of this bunch, but don't just love him as a lock at 22 or anything. I go back and forth between he is a limited athlete and his game speed is very good. Even with the slow speed and bad 3 cone, average at best jumping, not a good trifecta. Bigger than he looks, long arms, good hand size. I dunno.
Drake London - WR - I think this would be a very safe pick, I think he is going to be an above average to good starting receiver, yet I would question the diversity and speed of our WR's. Good hands, good contested catcher, not sure if he creates the separation we really need for Aaron to trust him too early. Bit too much Lazard in him, not a bad thing, but limiting what we can run with two oversized less athletic, no top end speed, WR's. I liked him a lot in fall then fell off, warming back up to him quite a bit.

Tier 3
Daxton Hill - S - Kind of hate taking a safety at 22, but we do need one here and actually could get a lot of PT this year as slot/3rd safety.
David Ojabo - Edge - Pure investment pick, might get him December January at minimal impact, but has everything you want at edge. See note below regarding achilles injuries.
Zion Johnson - OG - Don't like his size, already gunna be 23 this year, I don't quite get all the love (not sure if much outside of Bukowski), although great athlete.
Kenyon Green - OG - Maybe 2nd round, just limited upside at 22, not an impressive athlete

Tier 4
Andrew Booth - CB - I like Booth, but kind of another perimeter only CB,
Nakobe Dean - ILB - Just positional need, not crazy about him, small, I got him behind Lloyd and Chanel
Devonte Wyatt - DT - Would love him early 2nd-ish, just not a 1st round prospect, IMO
Jahan Dotson - WR - Hate the value at 22, not the highest ceiling you'd want at 22.

Although postoperative performance was worse in running backs and linebackers (vs. pre-injury), there was no difference in postoperative performance or number of games played for any position (with the exception of linebackers) compared to rigorously matched control players in the league
.
I notice you don't have any one listed in tier one. Is this because you feel none of them will still be there come #22? Ya never know. There is always some team or two in the top 10 that picks somebody nobody saw coming.
