I think we only make 1 selection in round 1 tonight.

Whether that means we use both pics and move way up, or draft one and trade back with the other...i do Ñot know.

But at around 11pm tonight we just have one new player on the team

My sure-to-be-wrong predictions:

- I think there's a very good chance we end night one with no receiver(s)

- Afterward, Gutey will say some variation of "the board just didn't fall that way" or "we tried to do X, but it didn't work out"

- A number of fans will say that Gutey should be fired (too obvious )
“We didn’t lose the game; we just ran out of time.”

Packers trade up for WR

Saints trade up for QB

Top 5 WRs all gone by 17.

2 WRs to top 10.

Additional predictions.

*I will drink more beer than I should.
*I will eat more than I should and will feel like crap later.
*I will stay up too late listening to interviews and reading comments.
*I will (again) regret not taking off today and tomorrow from work to prepare and recover.
*I will take a nap this afternoon.

This is the way i see it too. There are too many teams in the top 20 who REALLY need a WR. The current market of WRs wanting rediculous money after first contract has put an unseen premium on getting a stud in the draft and putting him to work immedietely. Plus i think the WRs are better than some are giving them credit for.

But also I think the need and the market is going to cause a run on them.

Packers know they need in the top 15 to grab a top selection. Good thing for the Packers is they have the ammo to do just that!

I'll be the first in line behind Aaron Rodgers

That's cool. I don't care what round we get receivers, but I know we need at least two. Generally, I don't like spending first-round picks on receivers though.

as far as WRs go...desperate times call for desperate measures.

This is 2022, not 1976.

why, everyone we've taken in our lifetime excelled, thing is imo most drafted later need more time to transition, obviously eventually many of them do well to, the only reason I want one in the first this year is need and readiness to play. :beer2:

I'm going to be able to enjoy this year. With the so-called experts having no consensus. I'm fine with Gutey letting guys fall to him. If he goes WR in 2nd round and gets studs on the line in 1st round that's fine with me.

Yep, it's 2022, where there are 10 times the amount of WRs as 1976 and you can get quality ones all the way down in round 2!

In my time as a fan, we've drafted Javon Walker and that's it. Sample size of 1!

I just don't like spending a 1st rounder (or two) on WR unless the guy is really something special - like Julio Jones level.

For the record, I am all for taking a WR in round 1. Williams, London, or Olave. But I don't think that the drop-off is as huge as some think to guys like Watson, Pierce, Tolbert, and Thornton. No one in this draft is perfect. Regardless, we'll come away with probably 2 and we'll see what happens.

So why do desperate measures have to be taken? Is this just another set up to be angry unless we trade up in the first?

Yeah, I'd be totally fine with trading up for one of those, too. But it's comforting to know if that trade doesn't materialize, there are A LOT of quality options.
