From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
Lewis the full time blocker allows us to have a full time receiver like Waller. 2 TE sets all day baby!
Il take a bum WR off the field any day
just my opinion, but if ya have a guy like AR you can run any passing scheme, some simply are more affective then others, depending on the roster, two years ago with a healthy Tonyan we used more 12 personal, and it seemed affective to me, and expect to see more of that this season just with him, adding a guy like Waller would seem to juice that up some, that rotation along with Lewis would create match up night mares for any defense.
If it comes down to the either or thing of replacing Lewis, or getting a better move TE then Tonyan I'll go with trying to replace Lewis, for the two reasons we all know, Tonyan is younger and should still have a few years left, and Lewis is old even for a blocker, let alone holding onto the ball after the catch, that fumble killed us last year, and there are more like him to chose from.
plus we don't feature a TE ( mostly because we havn't had one) in our offence and it's easier to find a good WR then a TE.
Getting the feeling the stars just aren't aligned when it comes to us and WRs. Gutey's been in so many conversations, but he will not grossly overpay. Which I like in a GM, but hasn't gotten us a WR.

Seeing what Arizona gave up to get Brown, let’s just be thankful the stars weren’t aligned.
Still waiting on the line of WRs who beg to play with 12 to start knocking on the door.
Hey, he didn't say WRs specifically. I think he just said guys wanted to play with him. I'm sure we'll bring in a free practice squaders who are begging to play with him. Or anyone.
I would like to add one more receiver to the room.
Given the way things stand in the draft, would we rather another rookie in the 4th or 5th, who is basically a lock to make the team year one? Or another vet like Julio or Landry?

can i have both? A WR in the 4 or 5 and Julio or Landry?

Thats most ideal.
Doubt it, unless we're surprisingly keeping 7 this year. Possible, but unlikely. I could see a 7th rounder to stash on the PS and a vet.
I kinda agree with you, though, given the likely 1-year nature of Cobb, Lazard, and Watkins (and whatever other veteran) that this could be a year to stay deep at WR on the roster with Rodgers and 2 rookies.

Kevin Austin Jr and Julio would be pretty legit.
And Gutey and MLF basically admitted that they don't even consider Amari a WR. Going to have to come up with all new classifications soon.
