Had him in my Packers mock. Had no idea who he was a week before The Draft, but just reading through The Beast and there he was and bingo!! To say he is raw and a developmental project is an understatement. He is still literally brand new to the position. It will be super interesting because I always thought Eberflus did a lot to provide excellent pressure with fairly subpar talent in Indy.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑03 May 2022 14:34This pick will always be weird for me because I was LOCKED IN on developing athletic marvel, raw EDGE, Dominique Robinson, who went after the pick the Packers traded to the Broncos but before the pick they received 7 picks later.

2020 Covid-shortened season: JJ Enagbare had 6 sacks and 3 forced fumbles in 8 games and was named 1st-team All-SEC
I'm starting to really warm up to this pick. He really does play that blend of power and just enough twitch to look a lot like Z.

Something weird happened with him in terms of weight and testing.
He tested at the combine at 258; at his pro day not long after he was 271 and slower. I think it really scared a lot of people off. But with an NFL strength team and clear directives on where they want him and what to work on, it should work itself out.
Also, the Z comparisons take into account where Z started--he was a 4th round pick who didn't break out until year 4 and then truly arrived with us in year 5.
So it's both high praise and expectations management.

I've watched him before, but this is the first time I've been really really impressed, particularly his get off/first step.
I could see him earning himself some pass rush snaps this year.
I'm pretty high on Garvin, about as high as a guy can be for a late rounder who hasn't done a ton yet. Will be fun to watch these two compete.

AFC scout: “He had kind of a rough spring from a speed standpoint. He’s got really good length and he’s got some natural rush. He could play either end (in a 4-3). He’s got exceptional length and does a really good job using his hands as a rusher because of his length. Like him. I just don’t think he’s got enough speed and juice. He’ll be a solid NFL player but he’s not going to be an impact rusher. Not a 3-4 guy. He’s a 5.0 40 guy.”
AFC scout: “He kind of killed himself. On timing day he ran 4.9 something. I wouldn’t mess around with the guy now. I thought he’d run 4.75. He has a quick first step. Once people get their hands on him he doesn’t do much after that. He had no technique if people pushed him by.”
NFC scout: “He ran 4.9. No.”
AFC scout: “He’s a 3-4 outside backer. He’d struggle to be a 4-3 D-end. We don’t like him. Day 3.”
AFC scout: “He played a mixture of outside linebacker and edge. He could be an edge. He’s my No. 4 off-the-ball linebacker (on the strong side in a 4-3). He’s a good college player but he’s not dynamic by any means.”
AFC scout: “He’s a good-hearted, likeable guy who means well. Frustrated the (staff) with his stubbornness and lack of maturity at times. He got frustrated too easily sometimes and they’d have to talk him out of that head space. Needs a kick in the ass at times to set him straight or get him going. Carries himself as if he’s arrived. Thinks he’s better than he is … Can win with his length and motor but not the athlete to dip around the corner or collapse (the pocket) with explosive power. Want to see more violence at the point of attack.”
NFC scout: “Didn’t see much. No juice, no power. Just a backup kind of talent. He’s straight line. In one on one’s he can just go run at a guy, but in the whole big picture he doesn’t (produce).”
Not a single positive thing to say from anyone… struggling to buy that.
