Why would anything think he isn't good? He hasn't provided any reason. Wish he was staying a bit healthier, 8 games the past two years is a bit too many.

He certainly isn't elite and has a lower ceiling, but he is still 26 and should only be getting better still.

Such a huge opportunity for him and the team this year, playing on a contract year, such a wide open door for snaps and targets, every reason for the starts to align for him this year, he just needs to take it. Could totally see like an under the radar 80,1100,12 type year for him, just a steady eddy, never putting up the 180 yard games, but just getting like 5-70 nearly every week.

Should he be any team's #1 WR? Of course not, but I'd probably put my money on him having the best production of all the WR's right now.

Idk, Hes recorded seasons of 7 yards receiving, 477 yards, 451 yards, and 513 yards. Not sure that qualifies as "good". Pretty mediocre at best to me.

Yeah, that's the thing for me. Like his hands are fine but not great. His separation is fine but not great. His speed is mediocre at best; not as slow as people accuse him of being, but certainly not a plus trait. Like I don't see a lot of things that he does really well (aside from block and try) so it's hard for me to envision him really stepping up.

His rate stats (the ones here and things like Football Outsiders' DVOA) are very good, but don't seem very scale-able, especially with better coverage players likely around him. So I'd be very surprised with more than 800 yards. But I would be less surprised with 800 yards now, having read this, than I would have been yesterday, before reading this.

Lazard is a possession receiver, not a separator. He is open when he is covered, not when he separates, by virute of being flat-out bigger than the guy covering him.

That variety of receiver is not very trendy or "in" right now but Lazard is pretty much what you draw up for that kind of wideout, and I would even say a nice complement to the guys we had last year, Adams as your star and MVS as your vertical threat.

I will agree that his hands could be better for a guy who has to win without separation. He gets the dropsies from time to time. When he's on, though, yes, he is good.

I'm concerned that maybe after Watkins, Toure might be our best separator. How do we feel about the short area, early-route separation ability of our players?

Where the $%@# does Lazard get off? After being the worst offensive player on the field in 2021 against the Buccs he needs to make amends by showing up to every practice and then some. Great blocker for his position. Garbàgè receiver.

I hope he takes his place as the rightful 4th string receiver where he belongs.

Yeah, Lazard is a jag. If he played for the Vikings or bears we would never mention him in a GDT as someone to watch out for and be prepared to stop. Our opponents don’t do that either.
