But cmon....Adams comments were quite damning.
I don't get it, truly.

Like Adams definitely prefers playing with Carr than Love. He definitely thinks his career is better served with Carr than Love. I agree with you. But how damning is that? A 2nd-year with 1 start versus a guy who is in the league's top ten conversation? Absolutely.

Like I'm feeling pretty pessimistic on Love these days, but "I prefer Derrick Carr, my college QB and best friend, a top 10-12 QB in the league, over a completely unproven Jordan Love after two years? This is not revelatory information. You'd be nuts not to think Carr is a safer route to stats at this point.

It’s simply what he said, how he said it, and that he said it out loud.

Its that Adams seen Love for every day of Loves career, and he wanted no part of being around when Loves time came.

It’s the level the org has done everything possible to delay the unveiling Love.

The writings on the wall, just gotta read it.

really? I wouldn't expect Adams to prefer the young Love over a seasoned vet QB, no brainer there.

and I don't think all of Loves misses that these writers attribute to him are actually misses, even in practice the QB is throwing to a spot the receiver is suppose to be at, specially so with short and mid range stuff, Hows Love ( any QB) suppose to know how much to lead a receiver he's never played with, this isn't HS football, the sand lot stuff doesn't work in the nfl, when ya see a receiver doing a 180 to catch the ball ( Watson) it's because they turned in the wrong direction in the first place, sure it's a great catch, but against solid coverage it's probably a pick, these guys are blaming Love when I bet half these misses are on the receiver pooching the route.

I hated the Love pick, but even though this is his third season, in reality do to covid it's like two off seasons, he's still not shown me enough to determine how good he can be, we need to see more of him in real time.

I think every indication we have ever seen with our own eyes, plus the actions of the org, plus the comments of Adams today indicates that Love is not very good.

I hope he proves me wrong!

But I’m just being honest about everything he has shown us

I mean Love has the holy trinity for awful QBs. Inaccurate, indecisive, and inconsistent. I just really didnt get him coming out. He is unable to string drives together because one of those three things is going to happen to him and when it does its real bad. He really reminds me of Cutler minus an elite arm. Which is another thing. A lot was made about his arm strength. "He can make all the throws" they said. He doesnt have the cannon to make up for his indecisiveness or poor decision making. Its just an average arm. Athletically hes even average. Like hes got some mobility to him but in todays game its just basic. He isnt overly big to shake off sacks.

The pick gets worse and worse every day.

Many Packers fans watch same video and demand to be shown where he explicitly said the words “Love is trash”

Comparing Love to Cutler? That is an awful comparison.

Cutler is many times better.

Looking at Adams's words in full, his decision seems to have way more to do with Oakland just being an attractive destination to him in general, for many reasons that don't relate to football at all, than how he feels about Rodgers/Love.

Even if Love looked like a good QB up to this point (which he hasn't, in case anyone is intent on interpreting this post as "denying" anything bad about Love), maybe he would have been a little more willing to stay, but it wouldn't have changed the main reasons why wanted to go to Oakland.

There's a reason why he wanted to go THAT team, specifically, and not just any team with a good or even above-average QB that would for sure be there for a while.

*edit*

If we had got his extension done when he wanted, which (as we know) we couldn't because he had to get the situation with Aaron worked out, I don't think he would have begun seriously entertaining the idea of going to Oakland.

Cutler is much better and it’s why I said minus the elite arm talent. That made Cutler special. It made him a starting caliber QB although never a good one. He also had average size, average athleticism for his era, and poor decision making. He was just as inconsistent but he could rifle a ball through tight windows and get it down the field.

Love doesn’t have a single quality about him as aQB to hang his hat on. I had felt very similarly about Brian Brohm when we took him except he had absolutely no arm strength. That guy was a complete noodle of a QB. Loves got a little more than that.

Here’s the thing, he could have just said that he wanted to go play with his buddy after being uncertain about Rodgers future.

He specifically mentioned love taking over as a factor! Lol

Said he loved the little guy, but wanted to be remembered and wasn’t willing to sacrifice his career haha

Like cmon, it’s obvious what he’s saying and he said it all voluntarily!

Love is worse than the Sun. Heard it here first. ;)

“You guys have heard Green Bay offered this which is higher than what I was [going to make with the Raiders] and all of that. And, yeah, I’ll say it, it was true. OK, it was true,” Adams said. “But there’s much more that goes into it. And family is a big part of it for me. So, geographically being here, it makes it a lot easier for me to stay connected to my family year-round.

“And this isn’t Year Two, or I’m not trying to necessarily fight for a job or anything like that to where you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do — you’ve got to stay out there. I had the choice and the choice was for me to come here and raise my family on the West Coast and come out here and have some fun in the sun.”

his trade to Vegas was cut and done 3 months before it happened when he bought that house, he new that Rodgers might retire after this season, and he wants to finish his career with a established vet, versus the uncertainty of Loves progressing, mostly though I don't think it mattered that GB offered him the money he sought, as he had already made his decision.

why people are so quick to label Love a bust baffles me, there is no way in hell from the little we've seen for us to know that, ya don't need a gunslinger arm to be a successful QB in this league, some of the very best didn't.

Maybe we shouldn't take everything Adams says as gospel.

Fair point, but at least you admit Admits brought Love in the convo voluntarily primarily just to say that’s he too worried about his numbers to stick around for that experiment.

As for what love becomes, I’m willing to currently hold a fluid opinion (non concrete) and wait for further information to come in before I pass more judgements. (Ie: revisit this after camp and preseason).

I admit that it is most likely part of the equation. Maybe he thinks Love is going to be really, really good, but given his age, he doesn't have time to wait for that. Maybe Derek Carr really is that good of a friend that he was just that excited to go play with him. Maybe it was about geography and where he wanted to raise his family and settle for the rest of his life. It's all part of the equation.

To clarify my view here, I don’t even think Jordan Love is good. I’ve grown pretty pessimistic.

I just don’t think “I’d rather play with Derek Carr” is the sick burn some of you seem to think it is. I think it’s a no-brainier over an unproven guy who may or may not turn into anything.

I don't think it is a any kind of burn. What would be Adams motivation for doing so? As you said, it is just kind of stating the obvious.

There is nothing wrong with saying he’d rather play with Carr. However, the thing that gives the sound bite the buzz it got (and it got real buzz, type in Jordan love on Twitter search and every tweet is talking about Adams comments)

Is that he didn’t have to mention love at all lol. The question was about Rodgers future. He could have easily just said that he wanted to play with his buddy Carr if Rodgers wasn’t going to be around forever.

He clearly started talking about how “how Love was a great guy” but that he wasn’t willing make any “sacrifices” (lol) and that he wanted to be remembered.

The implications are clear and most people can see them.

Again. It’s like the camp of ‘if you make these 6 assumptions, that clearly means this and nothing more, you just have your blinders on’.

And another camp is, ok that’s what he said and these were all the things he said that’s contributed to this, sounds like it’s all of the above in some order of importance’

And you just get, nope, you are wrong, I am so obviously right.

you know why twitter is all abuzz over the Love comment? just look at the buzz you and others here have provided, it's natural to glom onto tidbits about someone ya never liked as a pick in the first place, and not many fans liked the Love pick.

That Adams mentioned Love means nothing, in his shoes who actually would chose to hang around with a un proven QB when they can go to a team with a proven QB, be closer to home, Adams did what most in his shoes would do, and he did it long before these OTA's and mini camps.

if anything the implications are nothing more then a all pro WR trying not to dis anyone, but as we know thats never enough for sports writers who have to embellish in order to create click bait.

Also Twitter is an unrepresentative swampland of nothingness that I use out of necessity to get information from reliable sources who have chosen that method and ignore literally everything else about it for sanity and mental health.

Citing Twitter to account for something’s significance or interpretation is far worse than citing Wikipedia in a thesis.
