Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2019 will be in brackets.
Here's how this works:
Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll. You may vote up to TWO players (a change that was made mid-poll last year, seemed to work well).
Simply voting is not enough!
Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 15-20 guys, new players added in bunches every few days).
Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

I'll go Quay and Tonyan. Quay is my clear #1 here, pick 2 I'm pretty open on.
Next poll I should add more players, any players that need to be up there soon that I'm missing?

Voting Lowry.
All three top 34 rookies come next for me.

Quay and Tonyan.
I think Quay starts the season slow but gets more and more confident as the season progresses. If we see a repeat performance from Dean that would be SWEET!!!!
I just think Dean's play time is going to drop a lot. Reed and Slayton will take the Nose a lot more and that puts Clark at 3 Tech a lot more. We already only play 2 down linemen a lot. I just don't know if Dean will see the snaps because of the volume of players we have.

I think it's Clark whose snaps will probably nosedive. They had him out there on like 80% of the DL snaps. Now we can afford to take him off the field and keep him more fresh for January, but Lowry is one of the guys who will help make that possible. I think Wyatt will show us why we made him our other 1st-rounder, but I expect Dean to be the better player this year. For that matter, I probably think Reed and Slaton will be better, too, but that's not a knock on Wyatt.go pak go wrote: ↑15 Jun 2022 18:04Quay and Tonyan.

Quay for me, then can't decide between Dean or Reed. I'll probably vote for both together next.

Interesting thoughts that had not occurred to me! I'll have to think about that. How much do we want Kenny playing? 80%? 75%? 60%? What's the right balance. Huh.Labrev wrote: ↑15 Jun 2022 22:18I think it's Clark whose snaps will probably nosedive. They had him out there on like 80% of the DL snaps. Oh no doubt Clark's snaps will decline. I expect closer in that 60% - 70% range to keep him fresh. But a 20% reduction in snaps (like 10 to 15 snaps per game) will be absorbd by TJ, Reed, Wyatt and Lowry.Labrev wrote: ↑15 Jun 2022 22:18I think it's Clark whose snaps will probably nosedive. So that is like 4 snaps a player to the upside.
Lowry was the clear #2 Dlineman last year. He isn't that this year. It's still a math problem that I think results in less snaps for Lowry. Especially if any of the Reed/Slayton/Wyatt explodes (which I think is somewhat likely)
I think 65% to 75% depending on the game. Games we are beating teams handily will be on the lower side. Games where we need him on the higher side.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑15 Jun 2022 23:41Interesting thoughts that had not occurred to me! I'll have to think about that. I went with two rookies: Quay and Watson. Quay by a wide margin, mind you.
The arguments being made for snap counts along the defensive front is why I'm leaving those collective guys alone for now. Not that they aren't good players, I just think their individual impact will be limited due to number of snaps available.

went with Tonyan and Watson, a healthy Tonyan fills out the passing tree, and we spent to much to think Lafluer wont involve Watson a lot this season, those two alone can replace Adams production.

I chose Tonyan 1st and in keeping with my rotation it is Watson's turn as my second choice.
I see no reason why Tonyan won't start on opening day. Because Bakh had complications is no reason to think that Tonyan and Hill will be delayed. Jenkins got hurt a little later last season so it would not surprise me if he isn't ready on opening day.

Still on the Wyatt train.
Why Wyatt over Quay? The team showed their order in the draft. LB is a position where rookies tend to come in and do well, whereas DT's doing much of anything as rookies is rather rare.
Now if Wyatt has a knack for rushing and becomes a 3rd down specialist with some juice later in the season, I guess I can see it, as 3rd down disruptors are high value.
Next year both of them are going top 10 in this thing.

A few reasons. I value DL more then Ilb. Campbell was awesome last year but getting another DL to help Clark makes everyone better. Wyatt was a monster last season with a PFF over 80 both against the run and pass.
I like Walker and his upside is awesome but I don't think he is there yet. I agree DL is tough on rookies but Wyatt is a man already. On a rotation he's going to be a big part up front.
Im with you both are going high on this list in 23

I agree that I have reservations about Walker's readiness and ability to master the mental side of the game. He was a slow learner at UGA and many reports and evaluators questioned his instincts. To me, that speaks to a longer learning curve.
Just because Gary was drafted ahead of Savage didn't mean Gary had the bigger early impact. Savage did. There's a lot more to ranking 2022 impact than draft order. Surprised that Walker is our first rookie off the board, given the positional value of ILB2 and the concerns I raised above. By all accounts, he's looked good in OTAs and minicamp, though, so I would be delighted to be wrong.

Wyatt is the better football player. However kicking down doors and terrorizing women is a risk of spending the bulk of his football career in prison or on suspension. Quay does not have that history, so he was the better draft value and he is more likely to be on the 53 come January and he should be ranked higher here too.Waldo wrote: ↑16 Jun 2022 15:19Why Wyatt over Quay? If you assume the risk is insignificant, you should vote for Wyatt. If you think that history matters as I do, Quay should go first.

You have said this many times. Do you really feel Wyatt won't be on the roster in Jan bc he will be in prison??TheSkeptic wrote: ↑17 Jun 2022 03:56Wyatt is the better football player. I get the concern but I also believe GB did their homework and this he's not going to be in the league bc he will be locked up most of his career is also a reach.
