Post by salmar80 »

The Packers have made public the year-end financial results of the 2021-22 season.

In short, it has gone from this of 2020:

Sports Business Journal says:
The Green Bay Packers roared back from the pandemic to post a $77.7 million operating profit in the 2021 season on $579 million in revenue, thanks in large part to a 12-percent gain in revenue split equally throughout the NFL. NFL teams shared $11.1 billion in television and sponsorship revenue in 2021, or $347.3 million per team, according to year-end financial results posted by the Packers today.

That figure – which doesn’t yet reflect the blockbuster television rights packages inked last year – has soared by more than $3.3 billion (or $100 million per team) just in the last five seasons, vastly shoring up cash flow throughout the league. The national revenue pie includes increased baked into the TV deals that expire next year, but also new growth from the addition of a 17th regular season game, a primetime playoff game and increased sponsorship demand. The Packers augmented their national distribution with $231.7 million in local revenue, up more than 3x from the pandemic 2020 season when fans could not attend regular season games. Compared to the pre-pandemic ’19 season, local revenue is up 9.9%.

"The storyline from our financials from a year ago is a return to normalcy," said Packers CEO and President Mark Murphy.

Yeah, if the Packers are any indication, the NFL team salary caps will continue to see huge jumps in the coming years.

Packer shareholders must be cashing in big time. I sold mine at just the wrong time.

Did you sell your share(s) back to the team?

No, I got the joke but I sometimes a joke has a grain of truth in it and I was just curious if you really did get rid of any shares.

I bet the average spend by Green Bay residents is less than $100. For the most part locals avoid the stadium district.
