My opinion on why Gutenbumst did not push for a championship is that instead of bringing in good players he just kept pushing money out to future years for bad players. Or just players he should have been letting go so he could get the cap under control. Darnell Savage, Kevin King, Billy Turner. These were guys that should have been outright cut instead of adding void years.

I had to have said about 100 times when the cap went to &%$@ the team just needed to take its medicine and move on from the bad players and contracts they had. You eat it for a year but you come back strong the next. Instead we pushed all our cap on top of having a draft that did basically nothing for the championship window we were in. Even now we have Gutenbumst making some questionable contract decision like extending Preston Smith and Kenny Clark when they are in the age you want to be moving on from them.

But hey we got a bunch of playoff losses to hang our hats on so that’s cool.
10 playoff losses since 2011. Sheesh. :bkw:
First thing to remember about any playoff loss is that it first came with a playoff appearance. Would be nice to compare playoff appearances between the Packers and Bears/Vikes/Lions.
:-)
I didn't mind the Gory Years all that much. Went into ever year expecting to miss the playoffs and hanging my hat on any happiness to specific games. Never had to feel like the year was a bust. Unlike the last 30 or so, where making the playoffs was more or less a given, and definitely expected, so a playoff loss was just an early loss.

highest scoring, 2nd winningest team last 30 years, barely behind the Patriots, winning increases expectations, we just never had the defenses.

I always complained about Ted always using the high picks on defense, but obviously our PO results are the reason why, couldn't support the offense and protect a lead.

dismayed?

It is in their contract they need to be available. I think Love only needs to be one day W-F, but all others need to be each day. That is what one of the reporters who is on one of the local Packers tv shows said last night. Not good when Watson and others are having to answer questions about the situation because Doubs won't show up at his locker.

Now that is an awesome "HALF FULL" viewpoint. Point well taken. GO PACKERS!

If that's an attempt to make himself clear, I don't think it's worked.

Yeah, no &%$@. What's he doing playing football? This guy could run for public office in the United States.

I wish the journalists that interviewed Romeo would just have left the young man alone. He's obviously a bit vulnerable now, and could use some space.

Something off with the guy.

Hope he gets it together for himself and the team that drafted him

I don’t know what’s going on with Rome but he does not look like he’s enjoying life right now. His body language during the game, even after scoring twice, was noticeably subdued. His post-game locker interview also seemed distant and lacked any kind of emotion.

I sure hope whatever is going on with him gets fixed and soon. He just doesn’t look like a happy dude right now.

I agree. He was very subdued after some monster plays today and this presser definitely shows a guy who is in the mud. I feel for the guy. Obviously something big is happening. I am guessing mental health but that is only a suspicion.

I think he's a guy that likes football, but doesn't really care for what comes along with it. He seems quiet. He seems guarded. I would not doubt social stuff makes him anxious more so than "normal" people, etc.

and who knows what's going on behind the scenes, there probably is something outside football, but it's really none of our business anyway. I hope the teammates support him as they should. Give him some space when he needs it, but realize he's still a teammate who is expected to play. I think MLF, Gute, team, and Rome are all on the same page with that.

I do think he's the player we need going forward and I'll let it be at that

A good lesson that these players are actually human beings with real emotion. You look at how many people suffer from mental health in our world, not surprised that it hits NFL players as well.

We recently had a discussion about who our WR1 should be. I don't know if there was more than one or two others who joined me in listing Doubs. These past couple of weeks have shown us valid reasons.

Great hands.
Superb routes.
Shows up with big plays.

I'm not neglecting Reed, cuz I do think he is our most explosive player of all 53. The other WRs are guys who are lagging this year (Watson) or still have untapped potential (Wilks).

I would like to see Doubs get more YAC. But he definitely knows how to get open.

always felt if ya had 2,3,4 above average, a great coach could feature any one of em against certain opponents, I know the cream always floats to the top, and Doubs is having a good year, Reed in the slot deals with traffic, over lapping coverages, so explosive, I think were using him to much on sweeps, defenses are watching for that now :idn:

Wicks needs to hang onto the ball, he does everything else well, with Kraft this is a formidable group, get Love healthy, Jacobs, little better blocking, and this offense could/should dominate :aok:
