So what happened today? Did the retail traders sell off or was it manipulation as described in that long quote?
Sounds like a ton more manipulation, selling back and forth to each other rapidly giving the impression there are shares available. There still is nowhere near enough to cover.

Sounds like NYSE is blocking macrotrading like that tomorrow on GME, but nothing else yet. That's gunna make it tougher on the hedge's, although guessing a lot of people already jumped ship on GME. AMC still had like a 64/36 buy to sell ratio today, so long term prospects still very high ceiling if everyone can hold, unlike Portnoy that !@#$.

Been quiet here. GME and AMC making a nice morning ascent. GME up almost 40% before places started halting buying, but still going over 70% now as I'm typing this.. AMC up about 12%.

I bought in on Virgin Galactic. Waiting on the rest of my deposit, but thinking of going in on a couple of promising Cannabis companies and a tech company. All very small amounts for me.

Still holding on Nokia too. Not sure what that'll do, but I think that will be a long term hold for me. AMC probably too.

Worst case scenario everyone panics and sells and they can cover all their shorts easy and price begins reflect amc’s real price is without all this manipulation. Which was like 6-7 before the pandemic, now lot of people sympathetic to AMC and coming out of the pandemic, huge inflow of cash from this and a new business model. No reason real long term stock should be any lower than 10, so I see no reason to sell for a loss if you don’t need the money this week or next.

Not a loss if I don’t sell :rotf:, I got no problem sitting on this stock for months or years if I need to.

Exactly. The only people panicking are those that put their life savings into this thinking they'd make a quick buck. Me? The $200 I'm tossing in isn't going to hurt me and I'm willing to let it sit until I die and just watch what it does.

I know a few of you guys are into crypto. I have been for the last few years. Anyone onboard with any of those alt coins?

I've been on the Amp token train for the last couple of months, and have around 15k coins at the moment. Solid tech and an idea that most want to happen, but don't know how to make happen. I feel like this can be a really big thing.

I think its a crapshoot which one will pop off and make anyone money. Dogecoin is the big thing now. Elon buying up that and Bitcoin has helped. I think it's a good thing to invest in, because it isn't going away. But imagine you can get burned if you pick the wrong one. I don't know enough to give any advice. Everything I seem to put money into loses.

Could it go away though? New Treasury Secretary was talking about "cracking down" on crypto on her first or second day in office. What happens if transactions in crypto are made illegal?

At this point I think it's too entrenched to go the route of outright banning. The culture, the technology, some big players getting on board. And talks of utilizing it to make payments brick and mortar, Visa just came out with a plan themselves. I don't think it's going away at all.

I had like $100 on it  and sold it all of today. With Elon going btc, doge won’t last, made like $70 bucks on it.

My eth and btc have been doing good enough to offset anything going on with AMC at the moment.

I’ve been pumping into Eth and Btc for a while. Always fun to play with the other coins a little. I had a bunch in lite coin and chainlink, actually just sold all of that last week and put it all in btc and eth for now. When I’m busier with work, try to keep more on those too as I can’t monitor it as closely.

Of course the gov is scared of it, they currently have no control over it. $%@# em though.

If Bitcoin hits like 49,500 I think, it’s market cap will be a trillion dollars. It’s not going anywhere.

Most of mine is made up of Eth, Ltc, Btc. With my alts being Amp, Theta, and Chainlink. Thinking about sellling all my Ltc for more Eth.

If you don't need that money this week or next, let it sit.

Coming out of the pandemic, AMC should naturally be around 8-10 right now IMO without all the manipulation.

As of 1/29, AMC was the most shorted stock on the planet. No reason it can't blow up. Just needs a little catalyst (Elon tweet, big institution buy in, refocused meme energy) where this could still blow. I'll hold long term here until I see something that shows me this can't still squeeze. Definitely funky stuff going on with this stock that doesn't appear fair/legal. I'm sure the HF's would be totally comfortable taking a 8 digit fine in a few months opposed to taking a 10-11 digit hit if this squeezes.

Also some chatter that Amazon is talking about buying AMC which would likely be awesome news. Something like 5 really big Amazon investors all bought in big into AMC from 2/12 to 2/13, almost unlikely it's coincidence.

I'd still really like to make a sizeable deposit before those stimmy checks come out.

But dammit keeps seeing like btc is peeking and I'm waiting for a pullback, but its not happening. Should have just done it at 45,000 when I wanted to get it done.

Yeah, I was just being funny. Good info though, thanks. I'm not getting out of anything, letting them all sit and see what happens.

I do hate that I missed that nice rise out of some of the weed stocks. Had my eye on them as possible buys, but I went a different direction. Could have cashed out after a couple of days and made a nice chunk of change to play with. Oh well, still going to jump in on those eventually.

Still waiting on Virgin Galactic to "go to the moon". I figured things were going to be delayed and that would hurt it a bit. But I like the longer play on that one.

AMC is, I think, dead.

Streaming is going to take over all viewing content, even big budget new releases.

The pandemic had accelerated this, but it was always coming. Combine this with the very, very low cost of high end large screen tvs and a post pandemic atmosphere in which many are still going to be wary of large group gatherings, I don't see how AMC returns to profitability.

There is no good reason to buy or hold the stock unless you think you can sell your tulip before other buyers disappear.

That is definitely what they want you to think. 8-) There are multiple daily hit pieces from the well-connected on AMC, wouldn't be happening if it wasn't a threat. No reason it can't squeeze yet. As was said from the beginning, AMC isn't dead until the connected media stop trying to kill it. ;)

Also, AMC getting into streaming now, finally, https://www.amctheatres.com/on-demand

Better late than never, they've fought off bankruptcy, nowhere to go but up from here, assuming they don't ultimately crash and burn.

AMC certainly has a better plan and model than GME. The latter is on life support.

Pretty decent week. I did convert all my BCH after having it for two years, and threw it all into AMP. Just going to let that sit for a few years at least.
