Johnson will get the bag $$ regardless of where he signs. That's a given
But he has to be careful in choosing so that he has a fair shake at deploying his plan.
I don't believe the bears job is the best job for him and that's what I'll tell him when he calls me to ask for input.

What is the track record for that organization of making quality hires ? Zero. They are a dumpster fire now, they've been a dumpster fire in the past and thinking you can just replicate the Lions ascension is complete hubris. A dozen teams try to do that every year and maybe 1 in 10 succeeds. Just last year the bears braintrust decided that WRs are more important than OL for supporting a young QB. That's idiotic and we can see how bad it effed up their prized QB.

In an imaginary realm you have a solid case - but you failed to account for the ineptitude bears org.
In reality, the odds are heavily stacked against them improving any time soon given the Mc Caskey's ownership.
They fired the HC, but kept the GM. But your rebuild plan starts... with a new GM...which they aren't going to have.

The bears defense has given up as many points as the Packers Defense.
But when talking about the Packers D you exhort us with a " Let's wait and see" , yet the bears do the same thing and get a compliment from you calling them "a great and young defense"....c'mon dude. I get taking sides in a debate, but that's a bit much

The bears suck, your analysis is too heavily weighted on hopeful hypotheticals and odds are the next bears head coach will be fired in 3 years.

you may be right, and history backs you up, however blind squirrels on occasion do find acorns I found this though concerning the Bears OL

plus the first thing Teddy T did when we hired him as GM was cut his expensive guards and draft WR's, course he had old Favre and not a rookie QB

that says the Bears ol is not as bad as we think, and Ryan Poles has hit on his draft picks, Even the McCaskey's haven't been able to goof that up.

imho this has been a better invention of the Chicago Bears than some of the prior attempts, but we'll see

Torn on that, I think he's underrated and deserving of that, but SF has so many mouths to feed. But with just Kittle, Deebo, and CMC, they all getting old and are injury prone, so they need that.

Makes them obviously much better this year.

Sounds like they gunna be in some real cap hell next year at this point and going forward. They so lucky they got a competent QB on a 7th round contract right now.

I hadn't really thought about injuries until reading your post, but yes, it almost seems ripe for an injury riddled disaster and I don't hope for that. I think the 49ers could regress anyway. I think what we see from purdy is his ceiling. He is fine, but he's not great and I don't think he can really carry a team if they have injuries to key players.

The fact this team sucked decades ago doesn't contradict that our evaluation of the Bears being a poorly run org, or that the Lions have been too until very recently.

I do think the Bears can turn things around pretty dramatically if they solidify the OL, hire a competent HC, and do not hinder the development of their QB1, but they don't have a history of doing any of those things well with any reliability.
