A couple of weeks ago a Pro Shop manager told me that Lambeau will be used for people who want to watch the draft on the 2 Lambeau big screens.
Someone needs to start fact checking the rumors.

I had heard no bowl from the Nagler a while back and also on the Packernet guys podcast. It’s possible it’s all changed since then.

That would be a logistical nightmare, so I don’t see it and sure as hell haven’t heard that.

I'm thinking of driving up to Green Bay for a day trip a couple of days before the DRAFT to see how things look. But stay away from the insanity during draft day(s) ........... watch the DRAFT on TV. Hope it doesn't rain.

Haha - but seriously it’s like the most affordable option. I wouldn’t mind looking into it if there were several people interested.

I'm going hoping De Pere isn't too crazy during draft week. I'm not going anywhere near the stadium that whole week, haha. Though I am playing a gig on that Friday night in West De Pere.

I was curious about that.
What is the logistical issue of opening the bowl? I would have thought the biggest thing is
1. keep people off the field.
2. you need special access to access any suite
But isn't that already part of the daily operations of Lambeau? Is there concern of general vandilization? Evacutation in case of emergency?
What is the logistical issue that I am not thinking about?

I would think it would have to be treated like a game day. Security and such.

Exactly. And it would multiply the security and staffing issues to monitor ingress and egress from the bowl while also monitoring the huge crowd outside. I guess it could work if you significantly limited the number of people allowed in the bowl. 80,000? I don’t think so. Monitoring that bowl on game day is a massive undertaking in itself. Couple that with the crowd outside and you’re asking for trouble.

My radio group is the official group of the NFL draft. We have been working closely with the NFL for months on things. Setup, venders, etc. It is great the renderings came out. The event will be great, just hoping on decent weather. The will be shutting down several streets around the stadium starting in like 2 weeks for setup. As they progress, it will get worse around the area with more closures. They will have drop spots in the area set up for people to get carted in, there won't be parking.
Can't wait. It is getting close!

I could see limited/exclusive access for the suites.

Yeah I would never dream 80,000 would willingly go in the bowl at one time considering you have so many other areas to go to.
I would think it would end up being more like 20,000 - 30,000 to simply take a load off for a couple hours, etc.
