I mean if you want a good WR you are going to pay for it. Even if you want a mediocre WR to be a #2 you’re gonna pay for it these days. As far as spending on defense I really think we are effective as is and that’s with a ton of rookies and second year players playing last season. They need to hit on a CB badly. I don’t think you can survive with Nixon and Valentine. I know some people like Nixon but I am not a fan.

Arian Smith is the guy I want late in the draft. He should run in the low 4.3s and possibly in the late 4.2 and he’s 6’1. Some sites have him going undrafted. Just let him run deep and be a gunner.

Why would he need until March for his "mobility to be improving?"

Because February is a short month.

I don't need elite, I need good enough to win it all. Hurts isn't elite but he got the job done for PHI.
Very few QBs have ever been in Burts situation where every single player on offense across the board is a great player. Sure Hurts isn’t elite but his offense has no weak links and his defense kept him from having to be an elite QB.

We haven’t seen anything like that from Packers rosters in the past decade and a half. The closest thing we saw to that is the 2014 offense but the defenses ILB problem was so bad they really couldn’t overcome it.
I usually watch the draft with an Eagles fan, and every year he has a handful of guys he wants them to draft (he is a really good evaluator of talent). Every draft, the Eagles get the guy he wants. And then they also do something like "oh hey let's go grab an all pro WR while we're at it (AJ Brown)". Let's take the obvious pick Cooper Dejean or Jalen Carter. Let's trade down and grab 2 1st round picks next year!

Then it comes time for our pick. About half the time, the obvious pick is available for us to pick. TJ Watt or Pickens or whoever. DeJean last year. And we're always disappointed. A lot of times we pick the guy that my friend was specifically hoping the Eagles don't pick (Wyatt, LVN, to be fair Wyatt has been ok). He always looks at me and says something like "damn bro, not a good pick". Sometimes we trade out, but as yall know, it's usually a fat/lazy injured DL/OL/DB that we plan on moving to a new position.

The point is, I am somewhat close to joining @lupedafiasco in calling him Gutenbumst. I'm not there yet because we have seemingly a really bright future, but I look at our roster and I just get the feeling that Gutekunst is an underwhelming drafter. He knocked it out of the park with Jaire. Love is really good. But the bulk of his work is underwhelming so car. Zero blue chip guys, our best players most years during his tenure have been MM/TT guys or FAs. How much of our success is talent versus coaching? I think the offensive success is almost entirely MLF. We could be a lot worse. I would rather stick with BG, but I think he should be on notice, or just trade away our 1st rd picks, because we haven't been drafting well enough imo.
Update on this. Was at the gym yesterday with my friend who is an Eagles fan. He mentioned to us that he thought it would be great if they got Azeez Ojulari, who he felt was a reasonable FA for them to sign. He then did 2 sets on bench press and then got an alert on his phone that they had just signed Ojulari. At a lowball price too.

He is generally a good talent evaluator, so I would expect Ojulari to perform well for Philadelphia this season. Must be nice to be an Eagles fan.
