Packers Prospect Interest

I had bumped him down a bit due to some of his character flags. Seems he's lazy. Still draftable. Some concern about arm length for the outside, but I think he could easily play OT. He's still a bit longer than Bulaga was.

'Love what I'm reading about Brisker from his scouting report, would be happy with him if we can't land Hill or Pitre.

Honestly, I like so many safeties in this class that, aside from Hill, who is just perfect for what we'd need, I have a hard time zeroing in on any one of them; and a hard time pulling the trigger on any of them when there are so many more I like down the line.
I've never seen a class of safeties with so many guys running in the 4.3s; I've always said that for safeties you want the fast guys who can't cut/mirror well enough to be corners, not the slow guys who can's run well enough to be corners. And there are a ton this year.
Like look at the safety rankings in The Beast, with yellow highlighting the 4.3s and orange highlighting the 4.4s You throw a dart and you hit a safety with elite speed! You just gotta scope out his ability to process and read things/learn/develop.
A few combos would work. Hill or Pitre in the slot.

I would love to see him play more.
We have a fantastic 5 player top in the secondary and nothing after. Maybe another safety with some more range than a guy like Amos could free up Savage to play up more
I 100% pick up Savage’s 5th year option, not sure beyond that. But potential starting safeties and depth with snaps needed this year even sans injury are a need.
So yeah, I’m totally down taking two versatile safeties for many reasons.
An undersized safety that can play slot is a corner to me. Just a diff in opinion. Savage cannot support the run. Also cannot cover a TE.BF004 wrote: ↑24 Apr 2022 16:26I would love to see him play more.

Something must've been wrong with the clock this year.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑24 Apr 2022 11:56Honestly, I like so many safeties in this class that, aside from Hill, who is just perfect for what we'd need, I have a hard time zeroing in on any one of them; and a hard time pulling the trigger on any of them when there are so many more I like down the line.

I am preferring to compare this year's times against each other than against other years. The number of 4.3s overall is not normal.
I tend to agree with this. My guess is that teams don't rely on 40 times like the press and fans do..Really doesn't matter. Just something to get clicks.bud fox wrote: ↑24 Apr 2022 16:49Something must've been wrong with the clock this year.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑24 Apr 2022 11:56Honestly, I like so many safeties in this class that, aside from Hill, who is just perfect for what we'd need, I have a hard time zeroing in on any one of them; and a hard time pulling the trigger on any of them when there are so many more I like down the line.

Savage is best when allowed to roam, and is actually better playing up, your listening to comments like "takes poor angles against the run" yet the guy gets 70 tackles a season, Savage was a top safety the last half of the 2020 season, imo Savages issues last year had to do with scheme, not only will we pick up Savage year 5, I expect we'll resign him, imo Savage is far better then the comments I hear about him, and Savage is a 4.36 timed safety.Realist wrote: ↑24 Apr 2022 16:37An undersized safety that can play slot is a corner to me. I remember a receiver was beating Keven King like a unwanted step child a few years back, Pettine stuck Savage on him and that was the last reception that receiver had that day, why people say Savage can't cover doesn't even make sense, his coverage skills is what caused GUty to jump 9 slots to get him.
Lock him up yoop. Sounds like a keeper.Yoop wrote: ↑24 Apr 2022 21:37Savage is best when allowed to roam, and is actually better playing up, your listening to comments like "takes poor angles against the run" yet the guy gets 70 tackles a season, Savage was a top safety the last half of the 2020 season, imo Savages issues last year had to do with scheme, not only will we pick up Savage year 5, I expect we'll resign him, imo Savage is far better then the comments I hear about him, and Savage is a 4.36 timed safety.Realist wrote: ↑24 Apr 2022 16:37An undersized safety that can play slot is a corner to me.
