Sean Rhyan made his snap count percentage escalator by 2 snaps yesterday. He need 64 and got 65. He makes a little over $1,000,000 for that.

I thought it was $ 2 million? Happy for him personally. Sucks as it hits the cap.

Ya, it definitely might have been that much, I wasn't sure on the amount, just knew he had to hit 64 snaps and play all of them.

He’s lucky he doesn’t play for Jerry Jones.
Jones claiming he didn’t know about the pending Cooper Rush pay incentives before he was benched for week 18 is an insult to anybody with a brain. Jones didn’t become a billionaire by accident. He knew.
yep, O jones must think Cooper and the rest of football fandom are as gullible as he seems to be.
Rhynn seems a lock to return at RG next year, so ya have to wonder where Morgan will play, we have a history of grooming our first-draft picks, and with the decline some with Walker he is still great trade type player, will Morgan end up at LT? interesting.

No, it does not mean Rhyan is a lock. He simply hit his 35% snap count on his rookie contract that got him an escalator.

Last time they gave Morgan the start, it was at LG.
I don't know that Myers warrants a second contract unless they get him at a modest price, so I wonder if they move Jenkins or Tom to C and then have Morgan play LG or RT.

Josh Meyers ended up being the lowest graded offensive player in Herman's grades. This has been a theme with Meyers.
I think we can definitely upgrade the position. My thought is we let him test the market. Maybe even go through draft day and bring him back if there isn't any interest.

Yep. I can't remember in recent memory where a position group went into a season thought of as such a strength and came out of it as arguably our biggest need. I had broke this down in the WR thread, but there really aren't an FA's that make you super excited. I would love Tyreek Hill but not sure if he's a culture fit.

Under the PPE program, third- to seventh-round players who play at least an average of 35 percent of the available offensive or defensive snaps over their first three years receive an escalated salary in the final year of their rookie deal worth an original draft round restricted free agency tender. In Rhyan’s case, that’s a $1.92 million raise, 136 percent of what he was due in 2025 based on his original rookie deal.
Beyond Rhyan, receiver Romeo Doubs, right tackle Zach Tom, defensive end Kingsley Enagbare and left tackle Rasheed Walker have clinched PPE salary escalations for the 2025 season. Tight end Tucker Kraft, receiver Dontayvion Wicks, defensive tackle Karl Brooks and cornerback Carrington Valentine are on pace to do the same in 2026, while safeties Javon Bullard and Evan Williams are on pace for a raise in 2027.
Sounds like most of the positions on our defense every year from the year 2011 - 2024.
my point had more to do with Morgan than Rhyan Escalator, and Rhyans play has earned him to be penciled as next season's RG, or his position to lose, and also a extension if the price is right.
This was stupid. Gute needs to take up Ted’s old rule about third contracts unless it’s a qb

Agreed. I was happy for Kenny but the extension made no sense. Clark has been declining in his overall game despite an uptick in sack production a year ago. You don’t overpay on a 3rd contract for a good player. They need to be great or elite for that kind of deal. Clark has just not been that over the course of his 2nd contract.

He didn't get top dollar so I didn't take issue with it, but he still underperformed at his price. I did prefer letting him walk and bringing back Slaton for less.

Any thoughts on potential additions?

I’m hoping we get Williams and Quay back healthy first and foremost

Probably crazy but I would possibly give Michael Thomas Jr a call at WR. This team just needs a guy with strong a reliable hands and Thomas could snag balls anywhere in the field and take a hit. He might be done so bring him in for a workout. He hasn’t been healthy in 4 years but I think it’s worth a kick in the tires. Highly doubt this is something the Packers would do.
There also OBJ. He’s spent some time in LA when we should have signed him but for some reason Gutenbumst wanted to stick with the same shmucks. Also had some time in Miami with both of which have head coaches from the same tree.
As for CB I think there are two very easy options. You could bring in Patrick Peterson or Xavier Howard. Both are vets that are long in the tooth but probably aren’t going to make the mistakes that’ll kill you. Peterson for one can always return punts if needed in a pinch as well.
