The Browns can’t trade Garrett and get a pick for this years draft and designate it as a post June 1st trade from my understanding. However what can be done is the Packers and Browns could agree to a trade in principle and the Packers can draft a player of the Browns choosing, not sign him and then trade the rights to sign him. It’s a huge risk though for the Packers because the Brownss could back out of the trade at any moment for a number of reasons.
The Packers could also trade a pick to the Browns in princpal for "nothing" or do a pick swap with the eventual agreement of it being part of the Garrett trade.

The Browns could screw the Packers in that situation but I don't think that would happen. Nobody would ever do business with the Browns again.

The way it probably would have to work is the Browns giving approval for Garrett to seek trade, then trading the packers for assets while releasing Garrett with a post Jun 1 designation. He wouldn’t have to clear waivers so the Packers would have to have an agreed upon new deal before it happened.

I forgot hold old Metcalf is! Was he 24 when he was drafted?

I really think the most telling stat on the table is the ages of most of the guys (except for Wilson). Then, Crosby's salary will, I think, make him a solid NO (screaming) in Guty's view. I'd love to have that guy. But not for that money.

Davante Adams just turned 32 in December. Ken Ingalls needs to be more specific in his Excel formula. Don't use 2025 minus Year of Birth.

So Wicks has the lowest number of routes (didn't see Watson because his routes and targets were so low).

Wicks had the most Targets but 4th most receptions and 5th most receiving yards on the team.

So it seems he gets open in limited routes really well (would support he's a good route runner) but can't catch the damn ball.

Lett, who played collegiately as a defensive back at Samford between 2006 and 2010, spent last year as a defensive assistant/quality control under Jerod Mayo in New England, meaning he worked alongside former Patriots defensive coordinator and new Packers defensive line coach DeMarcus Covington.

The connection likely led to the hiring. Lett and Covington played college football together at Samford, and they coached together at UT-Martin for a year.

Lett’s past coaching experience includes being a special teams analyst at North Carolina (2023), special teams coordinator and defensive assistant at South Alabama (2021-22), secondary coach at Akron (2020), secondary coach at Samford (2017-19), graduate assistant coach at Ohio (2016) and defensive backs assistant coach at UT-Martin (2015).

He was too good at football in college for Gute to pick him R1.

Best way for him to follow that Davante trajectory, might be to let him play with Davante. :)

That is an insane chart. Could go one of two ways. After 2 years, he is just a guy.

Not surprised at all. His target vs snap count/routes run is insanely efficient.

Like the best I have ever seen.

Also wasn't Slaton like the #1 DL in the entire league at run-stopping

For all of the malignment over our pass rush up front, the run stopping did seem pretty elite.

Maybe as a percentage of snaps, not sure though.

The emphasis to stop the run was nice to see.

If we all remember Davante had issues catching the ball during his first couple of seasons. Let's hope Wicks figures it out too. NFL WRs who can't catch contested balls aren't worth their salt IMO.

Did we ever hire a DL coach?
