Darnell Savage is wearing a STAR necklace... shall we read into that?????
But honestly, this whole media cadre has been speculating about him in the star allll offseason and no one is asking him directly (Aaron Nagler hinted at playing closer to the line and Savage said "right now we're all still learning the basics")

Without derailing the mini-camp talk down a political path, has anything been reported regarding the roster's current COVID vaccination status? I understand the league has set 85% vaccinated as the threshold to conduct normal meetings and practices which, one would assume, would be advantageous. Where do the Packers stand against that threshold?

I’ve been wondering about this as well, but have seen nothing other than that the team has a good understanding of where they are, which was a couple weeks ago. They did not share that good understanding with the public
Honestly, I'm just happy for Jordan that he got a good day in front of the press before they get to ask him questions. I was a little nervous about how that might go, otherwise (not, like, he'd get heckled and be affected emotionally; just that it could be a little cringey listening to everyone trying to couch their questions respectfully)
Right with you on this.
If nothing else, it curbed any momentum of the "check-down" and "deep ball inaccuracy" narratives that the media was starting to build legs for. Had he experienced another day of (reported) struggles then I think that could have set the table for a summer narrative that, as we all know whether factual or not, would have been difficult to shed.
Kinda makes you wonder if maaaaybe the staff, seeing a building narrative, set him up for a successful practice. Of course, Love still had to make the throws but it seemed the plays being reported were outside the norm of what we have seen thus far. Just spit-ballin'...

I don’t wonder that at all. I’m not a conspiratorial thinker; Occam’s razor is more my style. But also, that’s too difficult to orchestrate, especially with defenders out there fighting for jobs. Especially with the reports of tight coverage and dimes, rather than mostly blown coverage or good schemes. Especially with what the coaches say and how they act and who I believe them to be.
I couldn’t disagree more strongly with this spitball

Surely it isn’t so improbable that Love would have a good day at practice that a conspiracy has to be involved in order for him to have one, right? Ha

I wouldn’t put it past the team to do something like that. Get the fans excited so they can buy Love merch and get hyped up. Rodgers comes back at the start of real camp. Trade him next season. Then because people were hyped on Love before the season they can justify raising their ticket prices again.

Now, I don't actually subscribe to this "set-up" theory but, for discussion's sake, I'll make an argument.
Up until yesterday, there had been widespread media reports of Love still struggling with fundamental level challenges. I'm not saying they were accurate, I'm not saying they were grounded in context, and I'm not saying anybody here totally bought into this narrative being established by media talking heads - well, most of us, anyway. I will say it was a narrative being built in the local media and starting to gain steam nationally.
And then yesterday happened:
Up until yesterday, Love had widely been sharing snaps with the other rostered QBs. That changed. It was widely reported to have been a boring day for QBs not named Love as he dominated many of the drill and scrimmage snaps.
Up until yesterday, it had been noted that many of the drills and scrimmage scenarios had focused on check-downs and dump-offs. That changed - whether by design or by progressions Love had previously determined to be covered but yesterday saw as opportunities to move the ball. The fact he did throw into tight coverage kinda supports a notion that he was encouraged by the staff to be more aggressive in his reads.
Up until yesterday, much of the focus with Love had been on fundamentals - footwork, squaring his shoulders, getting through progression reads, etc. That changed to a point. It seemed - based upon reporting, anyway - that there was more a focus on 7v7, 11v11 type scenarios. Again, not saying there isn't a natural progression of practice rituals, just that we saw it rather pronounced yesterday.
Again, I'm not suggesting there was a roster wide beneath-the-surface effort to make Love look good yesterday. I do think, however, it's reasonable to believe the staff kinda took the training wheels off for a bit to allow Jordan to showcase his talent. And again, he still had to make the throws.
It really doesn't matter to me if yesterday was just a natural flow of camp or was somewhat assisted by the staff. Like you, I'm just glad Love took advantage of the opportunities and, for the moment, stopped the building narrative in it's tracks.
I'll allow you the last word as, like I said, I'm not vested in this thought. Just spit ballin'...

No sir, not at all.
It has been reported all through OTAs that Love is taking virtually all the snaps. That was not new yesterday.
It was reported that Love was TAKING a lot of check-downs and dump-offs, with several reporters issuing caveats to their negative reporting like "hey, I don't know; maybe the Packers WANT him to focus on checking down and reading through all of his progressions right now," but the coaches always said they wanted him to make the correct read on every rep.
The first two open practices were OTAs, which had less team stuff and more drill stuff. The minicamp, both days, had more 11 v 11 and 7v7 and red zone.
It was reported the first day of minicamp that the hesitancy and the dumpoffs had been reduced, but the accuracy was scattered. The minicamp practices do seem to be different than the OTAs, but Day 1 does not seem to have been different than Day 2. Love just was more accurate. He's getting more comfortable. He'll have good days and bad.
It's absolutely silly to think they set him up for a showcase. What a waste of a very scarce minicamp practice that would be.
