I have read several tweets claiming the Packers are looking to be BUYERS in the trade market, actively seeking a vet RB and/or a vet WR.
I swear, if this FO throws away meaningful assets on a junk trade in the middle of a lost youth experience building season, I may lose it.
...unless it's Davante Adams. I could live with that.

I was typing out a message of agreement, but then I thought that, while we should just take our lumps this season, it wouldn't be a bad idea to lock down a RB or WR who will be viable for the next 5 years or so (to the extent RBs can be viable that long ofc). We are lacking a superstar WR and with every game, Watson is making me doubt him more and more. Aaron Jones is obviously great, and frankly I wouldn't mind continuing to resign him as long as he is good. But we really need 3 NFL-caliber RBs ideally and we only have 1. Would rather just draft like 3 fast RBs in the later rounds of the 2024 draft (because that seems to be how to get good RBs), but depending on who is available I would possibly make a trade.

I don't think it would be smart for the Packers to be buyers at the deadline, especially not when talking about acquiring a running back.

I assume they'll be extending him. A team like the Bears don't give up a 2nd for half a year.

With the Davante talk heating up, it sounds like he asked for a trade thsi month and the Raiders said no. Makes sense, they've have over $30M in dead cap if they got rid of him. He's stuck on the Raiders for another year unless someone is willing to give up major picks for him.

Why not? They got even less out of Claypool!

190 yards I believe I read!
I hope they screw this up again.

I actually really like that move for the Bears. Theyre building a foundation and banking on the Panthers to continue to suck so they can still get a QB.

Bears trade for Sweat already looking bad. Good player, but they spent a lot more to get a lesser & older player from the Commanders.

Can’t really say I do.
Decent pass rushers are valuable, but there always appears to be plenty available in FA at his level.
Might as well get one for free if you gotta pay fair market value for him either way.

Is Montez Sweat that much better than Chase Young?
Both about to be FAs.
Sweat going for like pick 35-40, Young for closer to 90-95.

Didn’t like him much in the draft, haven’t followed him very closely this year.
