He is a New Orlean Saint. He was injured when he played us.

Chandon Sullivan or Rudy Ford perhaps. I can’t see them picking up an old WR. They need a deep threat. Maybe Corey Davis but I think he’s more or less retired.

Give Fletcher Cox a call. Hunter Renfrow is another one that couldn't hurt. And, if I am living in Ridiculousnessville, how about Bak?

I wonder what Toure is up to. He knows the offense and showed some flashes.

It’s funny, because I was chatting with a friend last night, and we were trying to make sense of if this year is still considered a success if the Packers lose to the Eagles on Sunday. We were unable to come to a conclusion.

There are ample reasons to call this season a success. The tricky thing is if you thought that we are in a SB window, we need to win it for the season to be a success, or at least give you the feeling that we are trending towards that before it shuts (like if we reach the NFCCG even if it ends there, and you think the window is still open after this season, you can say we are getting closer).
I'd say it's been a success, but I have also felt the need to adjust the expectations somewhat. I felt like we were a SB contender this year. We arguably still are, because we have a non-zero chance of doing so. But I think that may have been a bit ambitious with a 1st year DC. I also think Love and LaFleur may not be on the Rodgers/MM timeline, I think Love's development may more closely follow that of a Jared Goff (I think he's better than Goff was at this point, though), and LaFleur more along Andy Reid's, being stuck in perennial playoffs for a long while before finally getting over the hump.
I also think the unexpected toughness of the division complicates things, which just really sucks. We expected Detroit to be tough, but not Minny. I do not think good rivals make you better. Weak rivals is way better, and I think that is an underrated reason for the success of the Brady era Pats team and the current era Chiefs that everyone aspires to be.

I don't buy that. We were the Kings of the North for years and kept losing. The arugment then is did our automatic division bid made us weak in the playoffs.
Since the NFC North was formed, we have made the postseason 17 times. We were the Wildcard team 5 times.
The only time we lost as a Wildcard team right away was 2009.
Frankly I just aruge that the Pats and Chiefs are anamolies and every other team is fighting for the leftover scraps.

Give Fletcher Cox a call.
He and his 100+ millions are mentally checked-out, his days of battling at IDL are over.
Its brutal in there !
The one guy I had my eye on was DeForest Buckner in Indy. He's made some post season comments about being pretty fed up with things there.
They just fired the DC. Would require draft capital and some cap considerations, but he's the kind of guy I'd be looking at

Not just playoff berth, but seeding. You play at home more as a top seed, plus the bye is one less chance of getting bounced, not to mention avoiding injuries, plus you get guys back healthy and extra time to prep. So the difference between 1 or 2 versus 3 or lower is actually pretty significant. 2 matters less now, but still.
We did not get a 1 or 2 seed that often in the McCarthy era, as we often started the season slow and had to play catch-up. We only hosted one NFCCG in GB with Rodgers. NFC-N was usually decently competitive, or basically on par with most other divisions. AFC-E was Le Cakewalk during those Brady years, just ridiculously poor every year with few exceptions.
That said, yes, getting into the playoffs as much as we did is also an important first step, and it is definitely an indictment on various people involved in that span that we only produced 1 SB appearance out of it. It's been debated to death who's most responsible there and I'm not going to get into all that again, but while NE- or KC-level success is not a realistic expectation, we definitely should have gotten back once or twice in that timeframe.

Sure nuf.
How about this.
Buckner get released and becomes a FA.
Buckner gets signed by GB.
GB trades to acquire an unknown player (perhaps with some ST value) from Buckner's team, giving them a 7th and perhaps a 5th to boot. Buckner's team also anties up a 5th to us (effectively swapping their 5th with our 5th...).
Yeah, it would be illegal. Illegal stuff never happens. Right?
;-)

I'm ready for the GDT, where you at @Pckfn23
Starting to feel better about this game, think that Chicago game just really pissed everyone off, Philly about to feel that wrath.
If Quay and Williams can both go on D, I like what we are putting out there. O is just up to LaFleur and Love and Jacobs and OL, don't care who else we put out there. Those 4 will make it all run... or not.

Would feel a whole lot better if we were getting Jaire back like we anticipated. Brown and Smith, St Brown and Williams, Jefferson and Addison... tough ask for our CB's.

That's my hang up as well. With Jaire I think we take 2 of the 4 we lost to the Vikings & Lions and we are having a much different conversation today.
