From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
Let's see what he says when Love gets his new contract.
Pretty sure he is going to say, "Thank God that JJ McCarthy is not our QB."
And you think you are going to being paying love less than $35 million a year? I doubt it. After all, he's worth it, right? Or isn't he the next great QB? Ah yes, JJ McCarthy can't be any good. Right? He sucks, and will always suck. What if he doesn't? What if he's the next iteration of Patrick Mahomes? The thing about rookie QB's is you never know how their game will transfer to the NFL. He could be the next Trubisky or the next Mahomes. Only time will tell.
Interesting they limited it to two years. I gotta think his injury history weighed on that decision.
Will be curious to see the structure of his extension.
I thought he just signed a huge extension.
Ahhh, I see he did a couple years ago. This extension pushes his contract through the 2027 season.
The 49ers locked in their versatile offensive weapon to a 2 year, $38M new money extension today that keeps the nearly 28-year-old under contract through 2027. McCaffrey’s 2 year, $38M combines with 2 years, $24.2M remaining on his previous contract to account for a 4 year, $62.2M total value deal.
...The new contract comes with $24M fully guaranteed at signing, including a $14.29M signing bonus, his minimum $1.21M base salary for 2024, and $8.5M of his 2025 compensation.
However, a triple bonus structure (signing bonus, 2025 option bonus, 2026 option bonus) make this a very likely 2 year, $32.2M contract on its face, with 3 years, $44.7M not out of the question.
thing is ya can't win without some good receivers, and they will demand top dollar even if there not as good as Tae Adams was, and 2 is actually better then one, and 3 better still, so ya, ya have to draft them often and the higher rounders typically are the best and most ready to play
We have 5 quality WRs. 3 of them are Day 3 draft picks.

haha, I new you where going to say that
Reed looked the most ready to play, if Watson had stayed healthy, who knows, he has the athletic ability to demand round 1 attention, I like the others a lot, some have even called Wicks a steal and probably should have went in round 2.
Doubs, Melton, to me are not in that group, I get your point, never can tell who will do well, or from which round, I just think the success rates favor the first couple rounds.
Los Angeles Chargers center Corey Linsley told reporters on Monday there's a "99 percent" chance he would be retiring from football this offseason due to a non-emergent heart issue that kept him sidelined for the final 14 games of the 2023 season.

Then why did you bring JJM up? Oh, you don't care. That's right. Lets make comments about players we don't care about. Brilliant.
