Too early to call. The consensus was Humphrey was better on draft day. This one needs to run its course.

Sure, just wondering why this came through as a theme of the preseason?

Because we played Creed. I saw him on TV and he looked huge. He looked like a man. He was awesome last year and the justification was "well Meyers is bigger...this will be a good pick"
Except Creed played awesome last year and looks like a full grown man this year. I saw the Chiefs TV version re-watching the game. I will always compare those players.
So far Creed is winning. And his big mannish appearance made my eyes look over. I'd rather have Creed right now.
I'm not really interested in "well we don't know about the future". I clearly am in that camp and still am fine with the ole "wait and see". But 16 months post draft looks good for the Chiefs right now.

Again, not sure why this is a preseason theme when by almost all accounts Myers has looked good in the preseason. Sure there will be comparisons to Creed and Creed looked good as a rookie.go pak go wrote: ↑29 Aug 2022 15:10Because we played Creed. I saw him on TV and he looked huge. He looked like a man. I agree that Creed Humphrey was a better pick and is a better center than Myers, that it was the pre-draft consensus, and that it has played out consistently, both as rookies, and this preseason, justifying the pre-draft consensus.
But they're both good players and it will work out fine. I'm not going to cry about any draft pick that is a starter-level player. But Humphrey was the obvious better choice so far. Maybe that will change over time. I'm not going to have big feels about it either way.

I said draft night Creed would be better. I think most people who follow the draft knew that. Before the pick I said I would have taken Creed. I still like Myers. I think he will be a really good player and have a great career. Creed to me was a cant miss stud. I didnt think he would be greatest rookie Center of all time stud but a definite top 10 center. Hes exceeded my expectations.
Cancelled by the forum elites.
Yeah, I think the Packers outsmarted themselves in this case. Humphrey was seen almost universally as the top center prospect so the widely accepted perspective that he’s better now than Myers isn’t exactly news.
As I recall, the Packers saw essentially equal floors with these guys but a higher ceiling for Myers. That may come to pass eventually but as it stands now the Packers tried to be cute and, while it’s not exactly backfired - Myers is good, Humphrey was and is currently better.

Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement...
Probably would have been a better idea to take Creed, but not prepared to make final judgements.

Yeah, but that whole 20/20 thing.

It was baffling to me. A lot of people on the forum defended it with a wait and see approach but to me it was obvious this was an awful decision.
Meyers had the best PFF grade of any offensive player during this 3 PS game series, and he showed it against KC with a chip on the DT and a blow up block on the back side lber which sprung Goodson for his TD run.go pak go wrote: ↑29 Aug 2022 15:10Because we played Creed. Meyers was hurt last year, so his grade for last year is basically incomplete, healthy, I expect he'll impress ya this year.
It. Is. Time. To get a Vikings GDT going.
And...
Not it.
