I spotted a rumor that the Vikes, who are trying to dump some large salaries, have a trade in work for Cousins. Of all people! I don’t believe it. But let’s see what happens.

A return to Washington ? Bucs ? Dolphins ? Texans ?

What teams remain that could want a better QB situation? Commanders for sure. Bucs, yes. But again, I don’t believe that rumor. That said, another friend of mine, a casual Vike fan, says that the Vikes need to purge money commitments. That makes me wonder about a rebuild in Minny. Does Raptor think so or otherwise?

Kark is a lame duck in 2023 - playing on the last year of his deal.
the vikes either have to extend and commit to him longer OR find a trade partner so they get a return. Otherwise he walks and they'll wait on the comp pick in 2025

Make it 4th and long...

So what happens when the ref calls the annoying "holding - defense" or "illegal contact - defense" or "pass interference - defense" or "personal foul - roughing the passer" or "illegal hands to the face - defense"

Like there are so many reasons how an offense could convert because the rules are already stacked against the defense

Tte Vikings and Packers are virtually identical in cap position. They both did mirroring moves 2018 - 2022. In fact, the Packers were a bit more cap responsible.

Since we are in cap issues....you can bet the Bikes are too. Hence cutting Kendricks and Thielen.

I heard a thingy on the radio about TE Waller of the Raiders, that the Raiders let him go to (I didn’t hear where) for a 3rd.

The Pack had offered them a 2nd for Waller last year.

With one massive difference.
The Packers already have their QB of the future and he's been trained for 3 years in the system
The vikes don't even have the guy yet, let alone getting him ready. This was the challenge and the payoff in drafting Love before we needed him

The worst thing for the vikes in 2022 was winning a bunch of mirage games - killed their draft position
Will they tank this year ? Another 7-9 win season is counterproductive
How will Justin Jefferson handle his huge new deal not knowing who is throwing him passes ?

The packers do not know if they have their qb of the long term future. They know they have a qb for 2023.

Splitting hairs, but I think it’s more likely Love is QB of the Packers in 2024 than Kirk is of the Vikings.

Kirk in a lame duck year and you know he isn’t afraid to play the FA game.

Kirk 2024? Pretty obvious Erin Rodgers will be the 2024 Vikings Quarterback.

I mean that's true of like 90% of the QBs in their rookie contracts.

Two years ago the Jets had their QB of the future, but it turns out they didn't.

Two years ago, the Giants might not have had their QB of the future, but it turns out that they did.

Josh Allen looked mediocre after a year or two. Mac Jones looked like a steal during his rookie year.

Most teams aren't certain that they have their QB of the future and long term. Like ten teams know. We at least have a viable long-term option and a clear internal belief that he's got a good chance to be that guy for us.
