Did Tonyan not even play? I didn’t recall hearing his name a single time.
His replacement did. And played well.

Yeah on special teams. He made at least one tackle, lol.
He also badly whiffed on a block on one of those bubble screens that our DBs kept blowing up.

Just to add some context to the earlier discussion over PFF grades.

Apparently PFF graded Jordan Love’s performance as a 60.8 yesterday. Justin Fields received a 60.9 grade.

I’m not sure what metrics they’re using or the standards of grading…but how in the hell does Fields receive a higher grade than Love??
Fields had 9 more completions at almost 65%. He was also the leading rusher in yardage and yds per carry (6.6)! All of this while under pressure the entire game. Love had a worse completion percentage and was propped up by a better offensive line. Plus everyone knows that throws under 5 yards in the air are much harder than ones down the field.

Plus the Packers cheeseheads were interferring with Fields' sight. Packers fans added mirrors and lasers to them to distract him.

I think that probably covers it.
Apparently Love’s self-recovered fumble was more egregious than Fields’ lost fumble, too.

But Love "canned" something at least two times that I heard. That usually means switching to the alternate call. :idn:

Maybe the coach is a competent play caller too? A few more games and we will finally know.

I know in the past they've spoken of calling multiple plays in the huddle. I think what we interpreted as Love "changing the play" may have been him simply identifying which play to run based upon the defensive look he saw...?

I think a lot of times, options or checks are built into a play. Whether the d is in man or zone or looks like they are blitzing, are in nickel or base, etc. Or probably something way more complicated.

I’d say something like that throw back screen. If you get an unfavorable D for that specific play, maybe just gotta save that for later and check into a simpler play. But that is the play design, not necessarily checking into a new play.

At least that is my thought on the matter. :P

I don't think, to me means " I'am not sure" he also threw in the word "initial" in reference to the root of the called play, so basically he think's that Love ran the play he called from the sidelines with no play adjustment.

what may look like a adjustment is probably a disguise to just shake up the defense, get them to think the called play was changed, happens all the time I'am sure.

In reality we hear coaches speak in generalities at pressers plenty, seems funny that Love would go the whole game with out changing out of a called play though, maybe I'am just used to the other QB that did it 99.9% of the time

Jordan Love gotta be NFC Offensive player of the week this week? Right?

Anyone else even in that convo?
some of the niners balled out
Did just remember McCaffrey.

Kind of funny, I'd maybe peg 3 and 4 being Aaron Jones and Aiyuk, lol.
Snubbed

Funnily PFF had one Bear graded lower than Claypool: DE Rasheem Green. And he shared the 43.2 grade with our double agent Lucas Patrick.
