2020 Dynasty League Discussion

Cheesy topics (like the Cheese Curds thread) go here. Topics that aren't Packer related will be moved here as well.

Mmmm.... cheese.

I’m confused, did MadCity trade up to 5??
No, I accepted a fleaflicker trade and immediately realized I had mis-read the 2nd round pick to be from this year, not next year, and canceled the trade with explanatory comment and deleted my post in this thread about the trade. I then made my selection at 5. It all happened within like a minute or three.
That’s what happens when commissioners get blind with power!

Kind of surprised you wouldn’t prefer the 2021 2nd rounder. You have so many picks this year and madcity’s 2021 has a fair shot of being better than 9th, just statistically speaking.

Yeah, maybe I'll regret it later. I've convinced myself I'm a single pick away from the perfect draft class of my dreams. Didn't get the extra pick, but I spent some time last night watching Jeudy tape in case he was available and I feel like he was the safe pick early that allows me to gamble a little more with my subsequent picks.

Honestly if anyone has bad feelings about my accept/cancel move, let me know and I'll reverse it, take the trade, and let MadCity pick. I'm not trying to be sneaky about it or anything. 23 hasn't even seen that he's on the clock yet, according to my PM outbox.

Below I have the past two years' schedules. Building off of that, I propose the following for this year:

July 6, 2020 (Monday) - Rookie draft begins
- Drafted players added to the rosters by commissioners
- If you have more than 4 draft picks, ensure that you have roster space for all picks

July 20, 2020 (Monday) - Waiver open; add/drop permitted within player limit, until....

September 7th (Labor Day, Monday) - Cutdown Day. All rosters must be at 29 active + 3 IR by noon.

Quibble with those dates if you must. Or... make it easy and let's all go with the flow
@Pckfn23, tell us of your objections and we can finalize this or quick amend and finalize.
No objections. I will just not be available, spotty service if any, until late on July 8th.
I would say don’t expect a pick soon, but he’s been incredibly active in the covid thread.

Had unexpectedly good signal today. Hiked 4 miles with the family. In western Virginia. I hear someone playing the banjo gotta run.

The draft so far:
1. Curdoisseurs: Joe Burrow, QB, Bengals
2. BF004: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Dolphins
3. Trudge: Justin Herbert, QB, Chargers
4. Backthepack: Clyde Edwards Helaire, RB, Chiefs
5. YoHoChecko: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama
6. Pckfn23: Jonathan Taylor, RB, Colts
Nailed 3 of the top 6 picks so far in my mock and got the right player to team at the wrong draft slot in another. Woot.

How far west? I just left Luray, which isn't anywhere near the furtherst west Virginia goes, but is close to its western border among it's more northern lattitudes, ha.

He was my RB1 and on my short list for pick 8.

Madcity didn’t offer enough for pick 6 there?

LOVE IS OFF THE BOARD

Was super curious about where he'd go in a Packers fan draft. Fun pick; I was definitely going to consider him at 10 if he was there.

And BF is up again with pick 8 and I have a feeling he's going to run to the podium with this one

Bit of a reach and its gonna be a few years before has any hope of paying off, but my QB situ is looking a bit grim, and good ones are extremely hard to come by.

Just like the pros, if there is one with potential there, you have to take him. You aren't picking up useable QB's on the WW in this league.

My once strong stable of QB's has really fallen apart, and a few years of picking them hasn't really panned out yet.

Yeah, I'm still waiting for Josh Rosen to get traded to the Rams and take over for Goff in a QB-friendly offense.... I CAN DREAM

Love was gunna be my pick. Guessing that was who MadCity was wanting. But was totally prepared to come out of this draft with Tua and Love in the first and have no contribution in 2020, lol.

Was happy Jeudy went at 5, then my top 3 guaranteed one would drop to 8. Love, Lamb, Taylor being my order.

But Lamb, best WR to come out since OBJ, still kicking myself I didn't get him in this league. Think I remember offering a future first and my 2nd like every pick till he went.

Alright, looks like MadCity is gonna make me wait until tomorrow to finish out round one.

Nice first day; 8 picks in. At this rate we'll be done in 5 days, woohoo! BF and I have added the picks to the rosters from today (which is helpful in later rounds so the fleaflicker players page reflects who's been taken at this point in time)

At this point we have 4 QBs, 2 RBs, and 2 WRs off the board.

Nice job boys. 2 of my players are still available. If anyone wants to move a pick for a player or a future pick, let me know.

Thought some of the guys I offered would have gotten a mid-late 1st round rookie pick, but damn these things are hot commodities I guess.

I completely sat out of last year's draft opting to sell pucks for veterans. I have no issues with that strategy, I just don't want to employ it twice in a row and as much as I like, say, Keenan Allen, I'm worried about the QB situation on the Chargers moving forward. Made him less known and safe to me.
