yep, hot hot hot, could be the heat beat Kenny down, cripes Sweat had to be helped to his feet on practically every play
It depends on the coach. MM had his dog house with a one way door and we'd never see the guy again. And then we'd watch a vet make the exact same mistake, or some other rookie mistake and stay on the field.musclestang wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024 15:52It makes perfect sense to me. It does multiple things. it protects the inexperience. They're set up for success by doing what they know. It limits their field time which keeps them hungry to prove themselves with every opportunity. It lays a great foundation for a career and knowledge of the game.go pak go wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024 13:53Mike Wahle talked last week about how it's important to give rookies a limited amount of snaps so they only have to focus on a few keys while in the game. This increases their chance of being successful on the field and building their confidence as they continue to learn and grow the playbook. I believe that is what they are doing with Cooper and the best part is he is thriving in the role which will likely continue to increase his load as the weeks move along.
Very exciting to watch this dude.
Plus we've all be around long enough to have heard "the rookie wall" they go thru bowl season, the combine, then draft and it's basically right from one season to the next and burnout is real by the end of 1st year pro and their production fades down the stretch.
Keeping them hungry, situational learning etc and let them earn and prove their time, by the end of the season you have a guy ready to go, not ready to go to the bench for a breather.
Of course it takes the right scenario for that to really work. Must have serviceable guys on the roster already. I think it's a luxury to be able to bring them along that way. Sometimes you can't bring them along and you just sink or swim. It can work, but I wonder how many times it sinks guys that would make it otherwise.
He’s being asked to use his brain. He needs to be free to just use his eyes and react. He’s playing out of position.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024 15:46I am worried that something is wrong with Walker. Is he injured? Having home issues? He should be speeding up this season. But it seems more like he's slowing down.
Looking like a mistake to give Clark that third contract when Wyatt is looking like a star
Clark hasn't played well out the gate, sure, but I think it's a bit premature to judge his 3 yr extension a mistake after three games.Drj820 wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024 20:57Looking like a mistake to give Clark that third contract when Wyatt is looking like a star
I did notice Jaw played some slot snaps last week when Ridley was in the slot. Did my heart good.
I don’t think Hafley will commit to any one tactic. Keep ‘em guessing is the approach I think most likely with coverage shaded toward wherever Jefferson is regardless of who has him.
That's the thing he was supposed to be able to do more this year than previous; think less and play with speed.Drj820 wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024 20:56He’s being asked to use his brain. maybe if the system was the same. Whole new system, new calls, new roles this year. Cooper should eventually be the MicScott4Pack wrote: ↑25 Sep 2024 09:46That's the thing he was supposed to be able to do more this year than previous; think less and play with speed.Drj820 wrote: ↑23 Sep 2024 20:56He’s being asked to use his brain.
