I just like to take arbitrarily strong positions on some things so that I get more invested in the chatter.

Like if we now do trade up for Tet, I HAVE to come to the board to listen to y'all roast me.

You'd think talking trash about Jordy Nelson for 18 months before he broke out would have taught me to trust the process, but what fun is that?

Not that I don't sincerely believe what I'm saying. But I pick some hills to die on, and trading up for a WR in this class is gonna be at least one of those hills this year.
No worries. We all do that. That is what this board is for.

I'm very curious to see what the team makes of a lot of the off-field situations this year. McShay is saying all but like 2-3 of the top 6-7 OTs have "stuff" off the field, to varying degrees. We know about Mike Green and Isaiah Bond. And then there's the Max Hairston situation, which is documented and out there but somehow no one is talking about it and lots of rumors GB loves him.

I'm not trying to start THAT whole conversation, but I will be interested to see where the team comes down on some of these guys, given how many fall at positions we're considering.

I think I read one of the DL or EDGE guys spit on someone after a game. That is the most Bush League thing ever and goes beyond letting your emotions get the best of you type of scenario.

No I’m looking at it through the “there is no earthly way that for two decades we haven’t had a WR fall to us that we deemed worth a first round pick and we decided THIS GUY is the one that’s worth TWO top 60 picks” point of view.

Like. This guy?! Truly no way we like him more than we did Jefferson or Auiuk or Bateman, all of whom we were rumored to be interested in much smaller moves up for but the value didn’t work out for us.
Fair enough. I have long since given up believing I am beyond being shocked on Draft Day by the Packers. You know from past seasons I am usually right with you on the trade down platform. I just do think we could be in for some surprise and right or wrong (wrong) I do also think there may be some external pressure given the circumstances to make something like this happen this year above all.
I think Ted purposely drafted players just to tick me off, he hated me, and now Guty is getting on my nerves too  , I think if he's going to do any moving up it will be for Shemar Stewart, another overly raw power raz score combine junkie, who wont get his first sack as a packer for 3 seasons :thwap:

This is what AI said, I guess spitting isn't quite as bad as beating up girlfriends, but it's sure disgusting.

In the 2025 NFL Draft class, Traeshon Holden, a wide receiver from Oregon, was ejected for spitting on an opponent, specifically Ohio State's Davison Igbinosun, during a game. Additionally, Anthony Belton, a 2025 prospect, was also ejected for spitting on an opponent.

I think this would be fine with me, I havn't checked Johnson, he's so good I never felt he would drop, but think I'd be thrilled if he did, Alexander seems like a reach in the 2nd, but he checks a bunch of boxes and we need a DT, I hope Ayomanor last till our 3rd rounder, and I've not checked on Sorrell yet, but we need edge rotation, and of coursea QB in a late round.

After Johnson in the first round, Brugler gave the Packers a defensive tackle in Toledo's Darius Alexander, a receiver in Stanford's Elic Ayomanor and an edge rusher in Texas' Barryn Sorrell, addressing big and obvious needs in the defensive front and at pass catcher. Later in the draft, the Packers got depth along the offensive line and competition at tight end, linebacker and quarterback to finish off Day 3.

I was listening to a non-Packers specific podcast and the hosts joked that Ayomanor is the perfect Packers WR because he has all the traits we look for and he can't catch.

I would love, love, love Jalen Royals if he made it to our pick in Round 3 if we miss out on Higgins in Round 2. I don't think he will, though.

I like Royals a lot.

I'm concerned he's a little redundant because he reminds me so much of Reed. But also Reed is good. So I dunno if that's a problem or just an observation.

ouch, but not in the red zone, Ayomanor is the monster with hands in the red zone :) he gets a high 2nd round grade from some guro's, imo we'll be lucky if either he or Royals is available with our 3rd rounder :idn:

1. Elic Ayomanor, Stanford Cardinal (89.2)
Ayomanor caught nine of his 12 red-zone targets for 136 yards (most) in 2024. Each of his catches moved the chains, with six going for touchdowns (tied for fifth most). All of his scores came 13 or more yards downfield. Ayomanor recorded four catches of 15-plus yards (tied for most), averaged 15.9 depth yards per target (second most) and posted 3.02 yards per route run (most) from the red zone. He ended the season with a red-zone target and catch in each of his final six games.

Ayomanor definitely is a guy who felt very Packersy to me since some time ago.

He is also one of several Day 2 WR prospects with an annoying amount of conflicting opinions over play speed. Ditto Royals, Higgins, Harris, Bech, Egbuka, somehow even Golden. All of these guys have some scouts who say they have the speed to be at least a respectable vertical threat, or their speed is not good enough to do that at the pro-level and they should be viewed as slot- and/or possession-receivers.

Ayomanor apparently ran mid-4.4 which coupled with his good height is definitely encouraging for his ability to be that, but then Golden ran a 4.29 and some are still not convinced that even he's truly a burner at the next level.

Not a great class to need that type of WR.
