The Way a Packers Forum Should Be

Yoop, while I agree that O is proactive and D is reactive, the exact reason why the D has an advantage (or at least a more level playing field) prior to the actual games is precisely because the O isn't doing all it can to beat the D when they're just practicing running plays. The O does have an advantage in actual games where they've scouted the D, select plays and matchups to beat 'em and scheme to optimally beat the D. You don't do that to the max in minicamps.Yoop wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 12:15I heard Yoho's response to my comment a half hour ago, did you and 23 miss him telling me that Lafluer said defenses have the upper hand??????go pak go wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 12:08This literally couldn't be more wrong.Yoop wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 11:19or maybe they wanted to see if Love could hit a moving target more then 10 yrds down field, and this throwing into tight coverahe gets over blown, 3 passes into tight coverage, going 2 out of 3, and 14 of 23 is nothing to set bank on from the 2nd day of minni camp, good to see, but often the offense has the upper hand in minny's and TC.
The defense almost always has the upper hand in spring and TC practices. It's why every year we got so excited about Dom Caper's defenses.
I don't agree, unless the defense knows prior what the play is, trhen the offense always has th upper hand because they do know what the play is.
so thanks for ganging up, so noted.
sorry Sal, I mis read your response.salmar80 wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 12:22Yoop, while I agree that O is proactive and D is reactive, the exact reason why the D has an advantage (or at least a more level playing field) prior to the actual games is precisely because the O isn't doing all it can to beat the D when they're just practicing running plays. I would talk about how the leading story for many TC's the past decade has been Rodgers throwing a lot of interceptions and the defenses looking great, but I have come to accept you will take that anecdotal evidence and just say, "sorry I disagree".Yoop wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 12:30sorry Sal, the added advantage that the offenses has over the defense is not limited to any situation, I think Lafluer said that in defense of the offense and Love, and thats cool, but he'll never convince me of that, except for situation of new scheme installs and the like, last year our offense showed what I'am talking about.salmar80 wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 12:22Yoop, while I agree that O is proactive and D is reactive, the exact reason why the D has an advantage (or at least a more level playing field) prior to the actual games is precisely because the O isn't doing all it can to beat the D when they're just practicing running plays. and this isn't me thinking I know more then Lafluer, simply that I think Lafluer waqs defending his QB and players.
that is the offense simply not worrying about throwing picks or taking chances they wouldn't normally, that doesn't mean the defense is better, more that it gets to take advantage of offenses doing stuff it wouldn't do in regular games, big difference, but you think whatever you want.go pak go wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 12:41I would talk about how the leading story for many TC's the past decade has been Rodgers throwing a lot of interceptions and the defenses looking great, but I have come to accept you will take that anecdotal evidence and just say, "sorry I disagree".Yoop wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 12:30sorry Sal, the added advantage that the offenses has over the defense is not limited to any situation, I think Lafluer said that in defense of the offense and Love, and thats cool, but he'll never convince me of that, except for situation of new scheme installs and the like, last year our offense showed what I'am talking about.salmar80 wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 12:22

And then either next year or two years from now we will forget about this conversation and you will say, "defenses are always better in the spring and TC so I'm not too impressed."
Heck I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Rodgers shows up for TC this summer...throws a lot of picks and people are asking if his holdout was a bad idea and you come to his defense saying, "eeehhhh. I wouldn't read too much into the ints. everyone knows the dfense always has teh upper hand this time of year."
Newman?
Ya, he's is absolutely thin skinned. I tweeted at him asking if he could find anything of substance on the Rodgers situation instead of retweeting Schefter. Blocked. Was polite about it too.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 11:58Andy Herman tweeted the music playlist earlier today and I replied "please stop" and have since been blocked. I really thought you'd have gotten more creative with him. If nothing else, Boozeburger seems more fitting.
That's crazy. I always took Andy to be a pretty cool guy, that actually changes my perspective of him.Pckfn23 wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 12:49Ya, he's is absolutely thin skinned. lets see, 2 people from a small internet forum text him with request, I bet no one else in Packer fan ship ever text Heerman with request, specially concerning Rodgers or minni camps, I bet he gets a 1000 text a day, just imagine how busy he is.Acrobat wrote: ↑11 Jun 2021 08:03That's crazy. Time to create that Twitter alter-ego. Heck, I've got 22 accounts on this site alone just so I can like my own posts...YoHoChecko wrote: ↑11 Jun 2021 08:14I don’t hold it against him. This isn’t even his primary job. I can see him being like “You don’t like it, forget it” and moving on. I just wish I knew that about him. I’d have left him alone and kept his tweets. I was just playing around because the playlist updates have become a joke over the years. I’d gladly trade his insights for my silence. Too late now, though.
