Rodgers trusted his Jags the previous year in the playoffs and Lazard had one of the worst games a Packers receiver has had in the playoffs maybe ever. The team simply wasnt good enough.
Maybe it would have been if he didnt absolutely &%$@ the bed in his first draft. To walk away with only Alexander out of 10 picks (and to have 8 of those players cut before the end of their rookie deals) is an embarrassment. Then you have the abomination that is the 2020 class.
Throw in the mismanagement of the cap and some absolute stinkers in FA and you have yourself a recipe for a team good enough to make it to the playoffs but not good enough to beat the elite teams. Gutey learned well from TT.

The plain problem is that the Packers could not afford a real WR#2 instead of a WR#3 (Lazard) and had to start 2 rookie Olineman because they could not afford to sign a good veteran. They lost Lindsey because they could not afford him. Otherwise, Myers could have started at RG. They also had to settle for a JAG at RT because that is all they could afford.
And why couldn't they afford a WR#2 and to keep their all-pro center and sign a competent RT instead of Kelly?
We all know the answer to that. Because of AR's salary. Of course AR has earned that salary for several years in a row during the regular season. Unfortunately he has NOT in the playoffs. He has played like a JAG and the rest of the team has not been good enough to cover for a JAG QB.
Unfortunately it is going to happen again. Gute has provided Rodgers with the best WR to be drafted since Megatron and Julio. But Rodgers won't throw to him until December and so he will still be a rookie in January. Instead he will heavily target Sammy and Cobb with the result that in January Sammy and Cobb will be on IR. And then those who complain about the Packers never giving Rodgers the WR's to win a SB will complain again all offseason as we endure another 1-and-done from a playoff JAG QB. The problem has never been JAG WR's or a cobbled together Oline, it has always been the salary of a QB more intent on winning the regular season MVP than on winning a SB.

This is partly why there will never be an Aaron Rodgers #12 jersey in my house. Long live Zeke Bratkowski #12 and Lynn Dickey #12. This fetish with winning MVPs is way worse than when Brett Favre went to the Vikings and sticking it to the Packers for trading him to the Jets in favor of Aaron Rodgers.

Team wasn’t good enough, lol.
We did beat all these ‘elite’ teams, 49ers, Rams and Bengals all last year, had the #1 seed, and lost a coin flip of a game with (yet again) a historically bad let down by one portion of our team.

We couldn't afford to buy a receiver, and when your spending so many top picks on defense to over come all the high misses then all you can do is draft mid rounders that take years for the coaches to realize they suck
just look at the misses in first and second round the last 8 years
Sherrod
Datone Jones
Nick Perry
D Randall
Love ( little early to call)
Worthy ( second round)
Spriggs
Rollins
Bradford
Josh Jackson
not to mention all the 3rd and later round guys that never amounted to much more then benchers
It's no real secret why we didn't spend some high picks at WR, we where never able to shore up the defense do to all the high pick misses, but hey lets blame the QB

mean while out west the Ram ets who also had a track record of missing on high picks said screw this crap, we'll just start trading picks for established vets, true these established vets don't have the possible ceiling of these rookies, but they have a record of above average play, mix them in with some of our very best and we might be able to do better, walla a SB victory.
obviously this seems like a fool hardy plan, with probably a short shelf life, but it brought home a Lombardi

it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this crap out, BECAUSE HE DOESN'T TRUST jags like Lazard etc to be where there suppose to be when he reads the routes, WHY? simple, because they very rarely are.
This is simply not true. Rodgers has always remarked that Lazard is excellent in terms of doing what and being where he's supposed to be. Rodgers trusts Lazard A LOT.
This forum thinks that Rodgers shares their negative opinion on Lazard. He doesn't. Rodgers is a big Lazard fan. And he is not someone who "just says that" either. He's a guy who means what he says. e.g. Rodgers never liked Janis and it was always very obvious from the way he talked about him.

people seem to hope Lazard becomes who he's never really been, and maybe that might happen, in reality he is simply the second or third best of a poor WR group.
and how exactly would you know what Rodgers thinks? not even the FO people have a handle on that.

Do you not realize that you constantly try to tell us what Rodgers thinks? There are several examples in this thread alone. Here is one example:

Rodgers had to resent that, course he'd never come out and say it, maybe that also leads to his lack of trust with these guys.

who doesn't say stuff like that? that is a impression, little different then saying Rodgers doesn't share our negative opinion, no one here dislikes Lazard personally, just because Rodgers likes Lazard as a person doesn't translate to Rodgers trusting or thinking highly of Lazard as a player or receiver.

No. You literally just berated Labrev for doing exactly what you do. You said it in certain terms, not an impression. And that is by far not the only quote where you try to tell us how Rodgers thinks.

I don't know what he thinks with absolutely certainty, but I listen to what he actually says and, in my judgment, he's a guy who means what he says. I *listen*. And the FO is on good terms with Rodgers now that they have started to do the same.
If nothing else, the fact that my opinion is supported by the thing Rodgers actually says makes it more plausible than yours.
Not only do you lack words by Rodgers to back you up, your opinion is THE OPPOSITE of what we know to be true of him.
Rodgers holding his tongue just to not "rock the boat??" You don't even know the guy you tirelessly defend (which is why he already broke your heart once), the man who went on a tirade against Gute and Murphy until they worked hard to fix that relationship, then ripped liberals on Pat McAfee show over vaccine mandates. This is not a guy who holds back just to not rock the boat.

I back up what I see Rodgers do, I saw him threaten to sit out or leave right after the Love pick, why? because the GM &%$@ all over him again passing on very good WR prospects, I listened to Rodgers discontent with the McCarthy situation when two off seasons straight he complained about the direction the offense, and the reason he makes the money he does is because the FO doesn't want to lose him.
your so gullible you'd believe anything anyone said if it came from a player, coach, GM, Rodgers etc. etc.and wtf does what Rodgers have to say on the McAfee show have to do with how he responds to team mates like Lazard,? not a thing, seriously His vaccine issues have nothing to do with anything we are talking about, but since you brought it up, who didn't lose some respect for Rodgers over that BS.
and just for the record I have zero respect for a smart ass punk like you, you should be ashamed to call yourself a liberal college boy, when you attack me personally you should expect the same in return, so F O
