The fact that we are able to play light boxes and have our safeties play two high has been such an advantage. They are now actually in a position to be able to make plays on the ball.

It is glorious.
It's amazing what having good ILBs can do for the quality of safety play.
I will take it further and note, especially lately with Keke out, we have been playing more "Bear Front" with 3 DTs but a 6 to 7 man box and it so far has been enough to limit the run.

I would be surprised if that works this week. I think MN matches up well against us to be honest. I think Sunday is going to be a very hard game; as long as MN doesn't play like crappy MN.

actually I read ( I think JS on line) that we had 34 pass pressures against Seattle using mostly 4 man rush packages, the most single game pressures this season, topping the 28 pressures we had the week prior.
What does this have to do with my post? :idn:

Didn't see this mentioned yet:

Whitney Mercilus to IR
OLB Tipa Galeai elevated to active roster
OLB La’Darius Hamilton re-signed to practice squad
HB Kerrith Whyte signed to practice squad

Reports this morning that Bakhtiari had some extra clean-up done on his knee. He's feeling better after it and still hope to have him available after the bye.

Yeah, I was reading that usually players are back after 2-3 weeks with that type of clean up. So since he didn't practice all of this week, there's a chance that he had it done almost a week ago. Based on all of that, I would expect that we only may need to go with Yosh at LT for the Rams game and maybe the Bears game. Overall, that's good news I would think.

I'm hoping we get some good news on Jaire and Z after the bye as well.

Big, expected dropoff in 1-seed odds, but mostly little-changed; only a 2.5% decrease in division-winning odds.

Yosh Nijman.

I am a fan.

He has no business starting at LT per his draft status, but neither do so many of our current OL. He will need some help that our All Pros don't warrant, but hasn't been a turnstile ever. What a coaching job, and personal drive.

Yeah. Going into this two week stretch, I told myself if I had to pick one of the two games to win with MN or LAR, I would pick winning the Rams game every time.

This week is very likely our most important remaining game on the schedule as long as we don't lay eggs in December.

I just wish we played the Rams in a few weeks from now instead of this week. It'd be nice to have a bit more ammo on the Oline.

He played well on Sunday didn't he? He will be huge for us.

Honestly I'm more concerned about our Center and Right Guard spots more than anything. It's basically our largest weakness going against their largest strength.

That is not what he said. He barely clarified things at all. I think its likely, but he didn't say exactly what he is dealing with.

Well...let me clarify. There was so much back and forth and joking, its hard to tell what he said was true. But again, I agree Covid-toe is the most likely thing.

I wonder if he hurt it somehow at home when he was recovering (either he broke it stubbing it on a table leg or dropped something and is too embarrassed to say). One would think they would put some sort of a protection like a steel toe in his cleat shoe like guys wear who work in factories. I guess someone stepped on it on Sunday in MN. :injury:

He was joking in that interview. He later showed his foot to the press at his weekly press conference to prove he doesn't have COVID toe. He said he injured it working out while quarantined and may need surgery later on.

Maybe I'm jinxing us, but I'm just not concerned about the Rams. Maybe we'll lose, but I don't see any reasons to think we will lose come playoff time, if we were to play them. We wallopped them last year, and we know how to beat Stafford. Bring it on.
