Yep. He and Lombardi never got along all that well either.

You are correct, he was a free agent. My bad. But he was one of the most loyal former Packers that was in every reunion.Half Empty wrote: ↑10 Jan 2023 17:22I was just referring to the fact that Vince didn't 'send' Taylor anywhere, Jimmy walked.
I had the honor of meeting Jimmy and his wife at a sports card show in Virginia once ........ can't recall the year exactly. Sometime after 2002. He was always respectful of his offensive line that blocked for him.TheSkeptic wrote: ↑11 Jan 2023 14:01You are correct, he was a free agent. My bad. Jimmy with coach Tom Fears and QB Gary CuozzoRingoCStarrQB wrote: ↑10 Jan 2023 11:15Agreed. Jim Grabowski, Chuck Mercein and/or Ben Wilson were no Jimmy Taylor's. Putting Paul on that list wasn't a good idea either.TheSkeptic wrote: ↑10 Jan 2023 09:37The one that still bothers me was sending Jim Taylor to New Orleans. Lombardi lost a lot of respect in my eyes for doing that

Cool historical tidbits.
No worries fellas. I've been sharing space in the Packers Hall of Fame with Vince for several years now. Not sure about Dominic though.APB wrote: ↑10 Feb 2023 06:30Quit stealing @RingoCStarrQB's thunder...Pckfn23 wrote: ↑09 Feb 2023 19:21https://www.packers.com/news/why-do-the ... on-display
Cool historical tidbits.
I remember watching that play as it happened. Our family living room erupted into cheers and high-fives after beating the hated Bears in such dramatic fashion. We all thought Marcol was just overly emotional after the play. Turns out he was likely on the brink of having a heart attack while in drug induced sensory overload…
this article explains why, Vince new that both Paul Hornung and Jim Taylor had seen there best years and he had just spent big molla in there replacements.Crazylegs Starks wrote: ↑10 Jan 2023 12:46Yep. He and Lombardi never got along all that well either.
Ringo randomness is just something you learn to live with...Half Empty wrote: ↑13 Mar 2023 09:22In the same vein at the "Love" thread, do we really need cutsie posts like this, with someone who spent one Lombardi year with the Pack?
