Good news, Would be great to see Watson and Nixon practice tomorrow, along with Rodgers and Jones, we need a full compliment of players.

We are healthier than probably any other time, sans last week. But the Vikes have a short list too.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!

I’m guessing Nixon will be a no-go this week seeing as they signed that WR.

fingers crossed. Groin injuries suck and linger, but Nixon said he shut it down as soon as he felt it tighten. Hoping he can go
It was painful watching Doubs dance around on his KR attempt.

Rodgers also said he thinks kick returner Keisean Nixon (groin) will try to play against the Vikings. “Kei is so slippery when he gets out in the open field,” Rodgers said. “I love Kei. You can win with smart, tough players who embrace their role and do it at a consistently high level. And that’s what he does.”

from the tweet above

Packers starting OL week 1 vs. Min

LT: Yosh Nijman
LG: Jon Runyan
C: Josh Myers
RG: Jake Hanson
RT: Royce Newman

on the road vs a fresh defense and Rodgers played like crap, delivering a 67 rating
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... 110min.htm

This time around, its a different, better OL crew...at home and Rodgers playing better

Bak
Jenkins
Myers
Runyan
Nijman

Go Packers

Man, I really hate taking Tom out of the lineup but, like you, I just don't see a spot for him in the starting 5 over any of these guys, assuming healthy.

True at LT, but neither compares to Bahk at LT, and Njiman has more experience at RT, It's a lot to ask of a rookie to bounce from one side to the other.

The OLine situation is definitely better than week 1. So are some other things.

Special Teams are playing better.
Defense might actually keep opponents <25 points.
Offense is more dynamic (whether Watson is in or not).
Rodgers mostly playing better.

Alas, in a divisional game, hardly any of that will matter. Some crazy plays are likely to happen that’ll flip the game one way or another.

Odds Shark with their Packer-viking match up

They've got the Packers winning, covering the spread and they're taking the UNDER on pts scored

https://www.oddsshark.com/nfl/minnesota ... 23-1655656

VegasInsider matchup:

https://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/matchu ... s-vikings/

74 % of bets and 81 % of $$ are taking Packers to win on the moneyline
55 % are taking the vikes to cover the spread

Team Rankings Predictive

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/rankin ... e-by-other

Packers come in at 10
Vikes at number 12

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/rankin ... e-by-other

Sagarin Ratings

http://sagarin.com/sports/nflsend.htm

Packers currently at 9
vikes check in at 11

Football Outsiders ( paywall)

Packers are ranked 11
vikes are ranked 25

Football Outsiders also has a stat called estimated wins
Estimated wins: The number of games that team should have won if it faced an average schedule of opponents and average luck, as determined by the Forest Index.

vikes estimated wins based on that criteria is 6

So we basically have a "6 win" team playing on the road in January. I like our chances 8-)

from SharpFootball

Opponents tend to attack downfield against the Vikings’ defense, as Minnesota has allowed 30 receptions at 20 or more yards downfield, the third most in the NFL per TruMedia.

Additionally, Minnesota’s secondary is allowing a 45.5% completion rate on throws of at least 20 yards, which ranks 27th.

Since Week 10, the Packers are fifth in the league in points per drive (2.56) after ranking 28th prior (1.51)
Since Week 10, the Packers are allowing a league-high 6.3 yards per play, tied with the vikings.

Minnesota is allowing a league-high 4.8 scoring plays per game
Minnesota is averaging 3.42 yards per carry since Week 11, ahead of only the Texans (2.84 YPC) over that span.

Here's a couple of injury updates from Huber/SI

" During the portion of practice open to reporters, Nixon did some on-the-field work with a trainer, including backpedaling, exploding forward and catching the ball."

As the rest of the team moved from the Don Hutson Center to Clark Hinkle Field to get ready for Sunday’s showdown against the Minnesota Vikings, Watson stayed inside, presumably to do some rehab work on the hip injury sustained last week at Miami.

“I’ve been feeling better and better each day,” Watson said afterward. “It’s obviously something that I’ve got to take day to day and just hoping I continue to take strides and, hopefully, I can cut loose on gameday.”

Watson said he’d be OK with playing on Sunday with limited practice reps.

“I feel like the mental side will be fine,” he said. “Obviously, it’s nice to get those reps out there, but I think the No. 1 thing for me is just trying to feel as healthy as possible.”
