Reed's end around sure was fun to watch

Alex McGough I think it is at the end doing up downs, man he does them twice as fast as everyone else. Probably just more energy then everyone else.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he is a starting safety by week 5.

I think Nixon will be our #1 kick returner, so I don't expect to see him as a starting defender, what makes a returner great is fresh legs, wear them down and the drop off can be dramatic :dunno:

Sounds like Jayden Reed was killing it out there today! :)

Two days in and I think I've seen Toure's name in a two tweets. Reed, otoh, has been mentioned a ton.

Looks the the Rank the Roster crowd who argued Reed over Toure may have nailed it.

Speaking of which, has the WR pecking order been mentioned? Are they all swapping out randomly?

Toure actually had a nice day yesterday, got very open a few times and had a really nice reception on the last play. I think he will still see the field a lot, even if Reed is ahead of him, as seems to be the case.

I loved what Tae Adams was able to do, but our receiver situation is vastly better, having 2 receivers that are legitimate #2' guys to couple with a dominate #1 which most of us think Watson can be is so much better then Adams and a bunch of #3 or 4's for depth.
Watson, Reed, Doubs, Toure, Wicks, even as young as they are we'll probably have the premier receiver group in the North and possible even the NFC

Who would have thought the 2nd round pick is better than the 7th. Weird game.

Well apart from examples like that, where the rebuttal will just be (correctly) that cases like that are the exception to the rule, I would cite Amari Rodgers, where we though for sure that a guy we drafted in Day 2 would leapfrog our late-round "Stooges" at WR in no time, only to cut him midway through his second year. And he was considered a pretty pro-ready, plug-and-play prospect.

Yes, the expectation is always that the high draft picks will be better. Nobody disputed the logic of that. The only real question was if he will be a rookie that "gets it" right away, or if the game proves to be too big for him. There's no way to know that until they play.

Oddly enough I called that one. Flynn was a winner and Brohm had not a single special attribute.

Is it frustrating to make a valid point and have anomaly’s mentioned as if they should invalidate your solid take?

Blegh... I hate our IOL depth.
Myers improving over his performance last year would go a long way in improving the depth on the interior offensive line. Don't forget that Tom can line up there if needed as well.

I don't think the Packers have any plans of moving Nixon to safety.

Watson needs to prove he's truly a legit #1 receiver. The same is true for Doubs and Reed as #2s as well. Therefore I don't consider the receiving corps to be any better than it was while Adams was still around at this point.

If the discussion in the Rank the Roster thread consisted solely of draft position, it'd be a solid take. It didn't.

Watson proved that to me last year, heck so did Doubs.

Also (related), I thought 7th-rounder Isaiah McDuffie outplayed our Round 1 pick at the same position last year, and that Quay only got the nod over him due to "politics."

So also, Love had a nice day, made lots of nice plays, only negative was the INT and it was more of a great Jaire play than a bad decision by QB1.
