Considering they let HaHa Clinton-Dix have his number and others since then, I'd say no.

I guess for a 90 man roster, with 6 names already retired plus 1 (Lambeau) and 5 (Hornung) unofficially retired, they only have two more before they run out!
What about if he signed for the Bears and won them two Superbowls?
Much like Favre did with the Vikings, after a certain amount of time, I would say completely irrelevant... although, I do have to admit, it would have left more of a "forever sting" if the Favre Vikings had won a Super Bowl.
Still blows my mind that people are still so butt hurt over Favre going to Minny.

Mine too! It's America and people are here to make a living. If the Packers wanted to keep Brett out the NFC North, then they should have paid him and had him ride the bench. Johnny Unitas sat the bench behind Earl Morrall in 1968. Sonny Jurgenson sat the bench behind Billy Kilmer.
So, yes, only Hall of Famers have retired numbers, but not all Hall of Famers have their numbers retired.
Right. Jim Taylor is my favorite Packer ever and a Hall of Famer, but I'm not surprised or disappointed that he and Hornung's numbers aren't retired.
Weird that Hornung's is unofficially retired. Lombardi announced it would be but then left for Washington and died a few months after.
Would be a nice gesture to make it official before he died. (Although maybe they realise they might be needing all the numbers they can get if they retire 12)

never happen, when ya look at that list, your either best in the league for close to a decade, key players in a dynasty, or face of the franchise for that long too.
lots of almost good enough players on the HOF list, anyway that seems like the criteria, and Rodgers easily qualify's.
What would the "no" argument be? Maybe that more iconic Packer names/players don't have their numbers retired? I've never seen a better QB in any NFL season in my life than 2011 Aaron Rodgers.
I don't think the NFL is encouraging teams to retie numbers now. Didn't we retire Reggie White's "jersey" instead of his number?

No.

If Rodgers wins another SB with the Packers, then yes, retire his number at least unofficially until he passes away. If not, no.

The real question is is retiring his jersey enough? They need to do more for the man after his career if they aren’t going to do anything for him during his career.

Why? He was paid well. If he has invested well, he is on his way to being a billionaire. Why do we need to give him more? Why is he more deserving than for example CMIII or Woodson or a dozen others on that SB team.
Is #18 retired in Indy? Or Denver for that matter?
It will be in Indy. Without a doubt.
Frank Tripucka wore #18 for the Broncos. Tripucka retired in 1963 after 15 professional seasons. The Broncos subsequently retired his #18 jersey. In 1986, Tripucka was one of three players to be inducted into the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame. On March 9, 2012, Tripucka stated that he would allow #18 to be worn again by Peyton Manning if the Broncos were to sign him. On March 20, 2012, at a press conference announcing his signing by the Broncos, John Elway thanked Tripucka "for allowing the franchise to unretire the number for Manning."On March 7, 2016, the #18 jersey returned to retirement when Manning announced that he was retiring after 18 professional seasons (4 seasons with the Broncos)

Here..........I did a micro-research project. And if you believe Wiki
Teams in the National Football League (NFL) retire jersey numbers of players who either are considered by the team to have made significant contributions to that team's success, or who have experienced untimely deaths during their playing career. As with other leagues, once a team retires a player's jersey number, it never issues the number to any other player, unless the player or team explicitly allows it.
Fun Fact (or dumb fact depending on your view): Da Bears have 14 retired numbers.
Based on this information and the Wiki criteria, the following Packers should (or will) have their numbers retired in addition to Canadeo 3, Favre 4, Hutson 14, Starr 15, Nitschke 66, White 92: Jimmy Taylor 31, Paul Hornung 5, Forrest Gregg 75, Aaron Rodgers 12, Willie Wood 24, maybe even Leroy Butler 36. I do not understand why Canadeo has his number retired, and not Taylor and Hornung......makes little or no sense (never did and never will).

The Packers should have retired Taylor, Hornung, Gregg and Wood a long time ago. They should do all four in one announcement.

And then how are they going to come up with 90 jersey numbers for the pre-season? Can we go to hexadecimal? i.e. 0123456789abcdef? that takes the number of possible jersey numbers to 256 instead of 100. A0 is 100, A1 is 101, A2 is 102, ... FE is 254, FF is 255
