And for drawing a critical personal foul. Let's not forget that!paco wrote: ↑03 Dec 2023 22:49Nixon for what was basically the game sealing INT?Crazylegs Starks wrote: ↑03 Dec 2023 22:46Some good candidates this week!

Could go Love, Nixon or Ben Sims for getting his first TD...
I haven’t decided yet but I think Dillon deserves consideration. He balled out tonight. O-Line too.

Tough one again this week. Love for showing he's progressed, a lot. Making adjustments at the line, most of them working, not trying to escape out of FG range and getting sacked, but knowing they were on the edge and moving forward to take it. Granted none would be better, but not missing an opportunity for points was something he didn't do earlier this year. That pass to Doubs was reminiscent of the night Irv Favre died and Brett couldn't be stopped, and then the next pass to Watson for the TD was a laser. Played very well all night.
Dillon for running hard and really set this offense up for success. Oline did well and he churned out the yards and gave this O a base to work from
Nixon for sealing the game.
Kraft for looking like exactly what we need in a TE. Block and work out for passes and catch them.

Gotta go Watson again. Not sure how he isn’t getting more attention in these. People were frustrated with him and he was being doubted as a player which was fair. Despite the hammy he made plays.
Cancelled by the forum elites.
Thought it over.
I, personally, have started to set a higher bar for those established guys in this contest. Guys like Love, Jones, Watson, etc are gonna need to really shine to earn my vote. This is an underdog competition, intended to recognize those unheralded players who outperform their expectation, and I'm not gonna continue voting for the obvious, easy headline players unless they really earn it.
I'm going Nixon.
He was part of a collective defense that held Mahomes and Co. to 19 points. He also came up with the critical turnover in the key moment with an absolute gem of a play. And then, as MLF pointed out, he didn't respond when Pacheco threw the punch, maintained his cool, and was there for the defense to help close it out.
Keisean Nixon gets my vote.

Ballentine has to be considered, he had 10 tackles and seemed to always be around the ball
Another player not getting a lot of attention but shined is Anders Carlson. Dude was clutch. Never a doubt on any of his kicks and the late 48 yarder was stone cold right down the middle with a ton of pressure on him. Great night for the kid after a few weeks of struggles.
I thought about Dillon and OL because last night was the first game since @CHI that we had a real ground game, but then I don't know that either of them greatly exceeded expectations. Dillon has been running well for the most part lately, this week it was just blocked up better for him, and we know he's a good receiver. OL run-blocking even allowed Patrick Taylor to get some explosives, but they let up a few pressures/sacks. No shame in that, KC has quality pass-rushers that get theirs, it just means they are not a slam-dunk pick for this.
Nixon had the splash play and a decent return. The INT kinda sealed the game, so I get it, but I know he can go out and make a play when given the opportunity. Mostly a bad try by Mahomes and/or Moore, IMO.
I am actually gonna go LVN because he truly came out of nowhere to get a really nice sack on Mahomes. That helped us hold KC to three on their first drive, so it was significant. Then a QB hit that was damn near another sack if not for a ridiculous play by the reigning MVP. And I noticed some nice run-stops when he was in there. I guess the mythical Luke Ness Monster *is* real, haha!
God I hope this is the makings of a lightbulb moment for him. If HE starts figuring it out, with all the other guys we have who can get after the QB, holy hell. I do not envy opposing QBs.

I’m with APB. Nixon
The Packers lunatic fringe is more visible because of sheer numbers. The Packers have one of the largest fan bases in all of sports. If the fringe percentage is the same as with other teams, then we end up with larger volumes of nut jobs. - JustJeff
I just witnessed a play that surpassed the 2016 Wildcard Game Hail Mary in Packers lore. This ball was more unlikely. The stakes were higher (4th down consequence vs end of half). The QB was more unlikely. The pressure in his face on his back foot.

The budfox meter = Jordan Love outplayed the defending MVP
How can you not go for Jordan Love throwing DIMES out there and evading the hands of Chris Jones. This dude is playing unbelievable right now.

Ballantine & Carlson didn't get picked this week so you can't vote for them. I can't vote for Nixon but I too though LVN played well. Seemed to hold up good in the run game and chased down Mahomes to get the sacks started. He gets my vote this week. Like these weeks when it could be one of 5-6 winners! This season is so much fun watch.
