Keep in mind that kickers and punters can take a long time to develop into a reliable kicker. Carlson can definitely be really good. We'll just have to see.

I didn't say anything like that. My point was there was no reason for Vikings fans to be jealous about Crosby.

It's interesting to note that Bates never kicked a single field goals in three seasons in college (two with Texas State and one with Arkansas) but was solely used on kickoffs.
