I don't know if I take the last dance stuff as how much Adams was hating on GB as much as it is, that's what people of principle and clear thought do all the time. It wasn't emotional, it wasn't disgust or hate. It was just how it was. We have until X time to move forward, or I am moving on. that date was prior to getting things going in the season because he didn't want that hanging over him, or the team during the season.

The season was time to play ball, and he did. Never moped, whined, played to the media, nothing. Just Devante playing football for the GB Packers and playing well I might add. I think that is just a reflection on Devante and his ability to focus and play ball. The anti-jaire/Martellus type player if you will.

He didn't cut off the communication IMO because he hates GB. He cut it off because the time to take care of contracts was over, or what he was seeking wasn't offered and it was now time to just honor his contract. I wish I was better at that, but do it quite often. I waste less time that way and can focus on the more important stuff. On a much smaller scale it's like buying and selling on FB LOL. I offer money they take it or I move on. They make an offer I take it or move on.

I'm not wasting all day going back and forth and listening to stories. I know what I want to sell it for, or buy it for and if we can't agree, that's fine. I'm moving on. Then you have the guys that will dicker for 4 days straight over 50 bucks if you let them. You know how many times I could yell at my kids in that time instead? focus on what's important :)

:aok:

Sounds about as plausible - more so even - than anything provided by media sources.

No what happened is that we didn't try to extend Adams when he wanted because we were trying to extend Rodgers first, which took a while, so Adams got frustrated. By the time we got Rodgers done he had pretty much talked himself into going to LV and was set on it.

It was 100% rational of our FO to prioritize the QB over the WR. What good is a WR if you don't have anyone to get him the ball?

I'd love to give DA truth serum and ask him if he regrets going to LV.

You don't have to. He has basically said to Kay Adams pretty openly that there is "nothing but love" for all his former employers but you could tell he did not see how good Jordan Love would end up being.

I think Adams would be very interested coming home. But there are also other options (namely LAC and KC) that are just as attractive.

I definitely follow this story with quite a bit of desperation, because if we don't land Adams, I am really concerned about the WR position. I'm not really interested in DK unless it's at a really good price, but what I saw reported? No way. Godwin would be nice but concerned about the injury. Tee Higgins would cost too much.

I just feel that we absolutely cannot go into 2025 with the same group, and I don't know that we'd get any immediate return from a rookie.

I will be surprised if we spend Davante money on Davante, and I don't think he will take any less money to play here. I will be pleasantly surprised if 17 comes home, but not expecting it.

I still think Metcalf makes the most sense for us but I'd be very happy to get Adams back.

Regarding Metcalf, if we are going to trade a high pick for someone, I would at very least want a year or two of rookie control left. Like the Eagles did with AJ Brown.

Two names I’d like are Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. Both teams starting a rebuild, and the Saints legit might not have enough money to extend him.

That is entering more pick 23 for me.

Can even give the 4 year 120 million extension, as long as you include the cheap ‘25 and 5th year option for ‘26.

Make it like a 6 year $140-150 million contract overall, which is very reasonable for getting a multiple 1,000+ yard receiver just entering the prime of the careers.

Adams is a perfect get if you plan of moving away from Doubs this offseason for whatever reason.

And hell, probably get Davante for 2 more years, Doubs only with 1 more year on contract.

Don’t think Davante gets in the way of adding Metcalf all the much, if anything, makes it easier to trade Doubs as a piece of that trade.

Davante, Metcalf, Reed, Kraft, Jacobs is no joke :P

I wasn't speaking about GB but rather his destination of Las Vegas.

I agree, a veteran presence in our WR is needed. I heard Cincy tagged Higgins.

Adams game will age well too, dude is already going to go in the hall. I don't know if he wants to leave Cali though. If we roll into this season with this group throw Kraft and Reed 100+ passes each.

Sorry to be an AH but I would hate this. Old ass Davante, lazy ass Metcalf. Kraft and Jacobs are solid. But Adams might be washed and DK supposedly eats like &%$@ and doesn't take his fitness seriously. I don't want either of them.

not me, not at all, in fact our worries about the future is why we continue to !@#$ all over the present, I'am focusing on the present, 2025, and I'll worry about 2026 next year at this time.

even so Tae may have lost a little athletism, but it doesn't appear to be much, and even if Metcalf seems lazy to you he still demand special attention from defenses, which is what we've lacked

this team has never been closer the last decade to a SB then it is this year, it's time to go all in.

Lazy and old doesn't get you hardware. I say we go after Tyler Warren with out 1st round pick in April. He is smart and has natural athletic ability. Let's create our own Gronk/Hernandez situation.
Cowboy up.

The Adams I have seen the last two years do not suggest he is washed. Dude can ball.

Donald Driver was 32 years old in 2007 just like Adams will be this year. Driver was a legit league #1 WR in 2007, 2008 and 2009. You didn't start to see his play go down until 2010 and especially 2011. But under no circumstance was Driver being on the team a hinderance for that young WR group.

no one we get in this draft though, and especially a TE, will produce in 2025 even close to Tae and DK, and maybe not ever Papa, agree I like the two TE packages too, but that stuff is harder to make work then just lining up 2 TE's, besides Guty wont give big guarantee's, and usually has void years in every contract, also teams add Old and even lazy and get years of production, I'am tired of the D&D approach that for some reason or another doesn't develop.

this team is very close, hell a non injury issue setting Love back and our passing attack last season and we could have went deep into the PO's, so a healthy Love with better receivers, spice up the pass rush, and we can go all the way this year, why not try :idn:

I beg to differ on DK Metcalf being lazy and not taking workouts seriously. Yeah he might eat unhealthy but he’s a genetic freak.
