Would the Steelers try another long in the tooth QB? Are they moving on from Wilson? MN has too much invested in that QB they drafted last year and I don't envision Rodgers wanting to be any body's backup. Perhaps the Gmen?

Someone will sign him. I hope it's the Steelers. That way he never ends up in a Vikings uniform.

Because he is no spring chicken I suspect he won't be signed unless a team loses their starter. :favre:

I thought the Steelers might sign him up, but they are positioning themselves to be a player in next year's better QB draft, they may end up with a doz draft picks counting compensatory, so they will have ammo to trade up for one, you may be right, The Dodger may have to wait for a contender to lose a starter to get a call.

On the other side, I don't think the Vikings are dumb enough to pay him what he wants. That being said..............you never really know about teams. For him, I think the best team available right now is the Steelers.

Quit flattering yourself. He would never consider the Vikings.

best place for him, A run first offense, use a bunch of play action, they have a go to receiver, he wouldn't have to carry that team, good defense, the Steelers could win with Rodgers.

for his future return to retire in GB I'd like to see him finish his playing career on a high note

I think he is still good. Injury took a big toll on him, but he was showing signs of being his old self over the 2nd half of last season.

Age hasn't hit him too hard yet. The bigger thing for him is the same problem he had while he was here, which is that he requires some sort of jedi mind meld offensive scheme where the WRs just happen to know where to be, he doesn't have designed plays with any timing, and he won't use the middle of the field.

I watched a lot of Jets games to try and figure out why they were so bad, because it didn't look like his throws were all that much worse (although they weren't as perfect as they were for us). My main theory was that their scheme and play design were atrocious. Every first down was a struggle, which was a good contrast to what it looked like running our offense which just so effortlessly moved the ball downfield.

Pretty sure I heard that about Favre. You don't think he would want to throw to Jefferson? Nah, why would any QB want to have that kind of WR to throw to.

They were lying to you then. I figured almost immediately when he tried coming back he just wanted to force his release and go right to MN. Was a poorly kept secret.

It’s being reported Rodgers has informed people around the league he’s decided on Pittsburgh. Just need to work out contract details.

…oh, and finding room for Lazard on the roster.

At this point its gotta be the Steelers that make a play for Rodgers right? Theyre too late in the draft to get anyone worth starting now, they dont have the capital to move up. Surely they dont go with Fields.
there to, he'll land somewhere, people act like Rodgers was the cancer with the Jets, he was just the latest effect that Woody Johnson has had on that team, Rodgers needs a team with strong structure, a solid plan and coach.
I don't think most people act like that, at all. Rodgers isn't a cancer and he is still a fantastic QB, even at this age. He is just a really horrible General Manager. He will land on his feet somewhere when teams swallow their pride and become desperate for an answer.
He’s a cancer precisely bc he demands to also be the gm

Some things will never change...
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac reports Aaron Rodgers’ lack of a free agent decision is “not about money.”

Dulac is speaking specifically about Rodgers and the Steelers. “The offer has been made,” Dulac reports. “It’s about Rodgers taking his good ol’ time about making a decision.” In typical Rodgers fashion, he is keeping the Steelers, Giants and supposedly maybe even the Vikings in suspense. The act can’t go on much longer than another day or two, but there haven’t been any indications a decision is imminent. Ultimately, the tea leaves seem to suggest Pittsburgh. Stay tuned.

It would be amazing if all 3 teams got fed up and made other arrangements and then he truly had nowhere else to go.

I still think Rodgers would do absolutely anything to play for the 49ers. This Purdy situation is interesting. I wouldn't want to give Purdy a monster deal. Maybe Rodgers sneaks in there somehow.

The Rodger the dodger seems to be orchestrating this scenario as we speak, it may take another day or two, but as we know the Dodger usually gets his way, At least we won't have to worry about the west side boys for years to come :aok:
