Vaccinated, or follow the protocols set forth last year. Pretty cut and dry to me as well.
Last year is a long time ago in terms of how far the country has come fighting COVID. The global/national rules and guidelines have evolved considerably in that time.
These rules being set in place do not align with current CDC or national practices.
not when ya consider what might happen as the colder weather returns, and we still see plenty of new covid cases in states that refuse to vaccinate,

They are still fairly consistent for those who are unvaccinated.

I dont understand why it matters if someone has it or doesnt have it. The morality rate is less than 2% currently and peaked at just above 6% because these idiots told people to use ventilators.
At that points its just natural selection. I got it because I wanted to leave the deployment zone I was at and couldnt leave without it but even before I wasnt walking around people acting scary. Play ball.

But what about fans? Can only those who are vaccinated or who have recovered from COVID attend games? To me this is the big issue especially for a domed stadium.

I didn't see anything detailing mandatory confinement to hotel facilities when on employer sponsored trips. Maybe I missed it...?

I'm sure the CDC would be more than willing to add that category for you.

Of that I am sure!
The point I'm trying to make is our improved knowledge of the spread, knowledge of effective treatment, early detection capability, and evidence of virus remission despite nationwide reopening progress should have significant bearing on how the NFL implements their 2021 protocols. We're beyond the fear and anxiety of not knowing. We know plenty now. I think it's reasonable to revise protocols to what is currently known, not revert back to 2020 protocols because that's what we did when we didn't know squat. That, or because we want to make things so uncomfortable for players that don't get the vaccine that they relent against whatever justification they personally have.

I would say the hotel thing is to keep them out of crowded indoor spaces like restaurants.
We do know a lot more, but a lot has not changed for unvaccinated people. what was true in September is generally still true now. Stay away from indoor spaces with a decent amount of people, essentially. What has changed is our knowledge of the vaccinated, which is why those protocols have changed.
Get vaccinated or adhere to the protocols. The NFL doesn't want to lose the money makers to close contacts or even infections. I do wonder what they will consider herd immunity. It wouldn't necessarily be the same as in the general public.

Do you know what I love? How the CDC totally ignores people who had COVID and the immunity of the body from having the disease. Like we gathered no immunity from having it at all.

People have gotten Covid twice and had it much worse the 2nd time.

See, but that’s simply not true. Treatments have improved significantly. Detection has improved significantly. As a result, mortality rates have greatly decreased. Hospitalizations have greatly decreased. The nation, as a whole, is generally living once again. Well, except for the NFL, apparently.
There still seems to be this pervasive fear of the unknown when much has actually become known. Take a look at data over recent months. Those seriously afflicted are largely elderly with comorbidity issues. The young and generally healthy population respond well to current treatments, especially those infections that are caught early on. If non-vaccinated players are being tested daily, I’m certain any positive cases will be caught early on.
There is no need for these Spartan-like rules unless, of course, there is an ulterior motive behind making things difficult for those unwilling to get the jab. The actual threat of serious illness or death from players contracting COVID does not justify these reactionary measures of yesteryear.

Let’s not turn this into hyperbolic back-and-forth. Please stick to football relatable points.

Treatments generally the same since last NFL season, same with detection. The NFL regular season only ended about 6 months ago. Hospitalizations down due to vaccine, the recovered, and summer.
No fear, simply truth. If half a team isn't vaccinated and there is little to no mitigation protocols, a team can still get hit hard. Asymptomatic spread and contagion before detection still exists.
There is no need to make up a sinister ulterior motive. The NFL wants all their teams to be at as close to 100% as they can. Makes for a better product.
Sure, maybe not confine them to the hotel any longer, but for the most part the protocols are generally along the lines of CDC recommendations for unvaccinated people.

Who here is promoting a “little to no” mitigation protocol strategy? I specifically mentioned the masking and distancing protocols, have highlighted daily testing of non-vaccinated, and have generally supported a reasonable league response. What on earth prompted this point in your response? It’s not even being discussed.

It is. How many players have had but not the vaccine? And why does it really matter? If people have had the vaccine then those that didn't shouldn't be an issue. Unless of course, the vaccine doesn't work. I can't believe that out of all the players in the NFL not one of them has not had COVID.
So the question I have is that getting the vaccine is supposed to be voluntary, but if a player is pressured to get it, and then has health problems from the shot and can't play half the seaosn, is that a football injury or not?

people that have had covid can get it again, not even know they have the virus, and give it to other unvaccinated people, some my have a medical condition and die, over a HALF A MIL. and still counting, the more people get vaccinated, the quicker we as a country recover from this.
one player gets covid, could end up wiping out half a offense or defense, the league is trying to protect it's product, smart.

I see, so the immunity that the body gives us for actually having the virus isn't as good as the vaccine? Sorry, not buying it. Not with this one. With "Several dozen" reinfections around the world, CDC's number, I don't think it's as big as a deal some people want to make it. And then, of course, some people don't get it at all. My wife has been around not only me but at least 8 other people who had it and she never caught it. She even flew plane loads of people from cruise ships that had it.
