Adams has tremendous leverage over the Packers. There is no WR1 potential waiting in the wings. Without Adams, this is the leagues worst WR Corp by miles in the league.
That may be true but Jones is the best receiving RB in the league and Tonyan is a top 5 TE. If Rodgers were to become a top 5 slot receiver or if Sternberger were to become what many expected him to be, the Packers would be just fine.

But worst WR Corp for what? For a pass first O that lives and dies from the 20+ yard passes? The MM offense? If that is to be the O, then I agree with you. But I think that MLF is too smart to do that.
I am not convinced Tonyan is a top 5 TE after a year where Rodgers force fed him the ball for TDs all year, but let’s say he is..you expect that we can afford to keep him?
If Tonyan has another year like last year he'll cost a lot, he wasn't top 5, he was top 3, maybe 2, he catches anything thrown in his catch radius, 52 of 59 targeted throws, if anything we should throw to Tonyan more, much more, with another off season and TC his blocking will probably improve, Tonyan on the cheap another season, what a steal

Tonyan earned the highest overall OVM grade of any tight end in 2020 (41.55). That was also the second-highest grade earned by any player, regardless of position.

Hopkins' 27.25M average is not the best precursor for Adams' upcoming deal, since Hopkins' deal was an unusual extension that was meant as more of an upgrade package to his ongoing deal. He signed a 2-year extension in 2020, and the extension years with that "27.25M average" are for 2023 and 2024.

Adams is looking at somewhere between 22M and 25M average per year, depending on guarantees.

It's a LOT, but Adams' game ages well, and I wants him.

The report just didnt sound like anything new. Davante himself told us discussions were beginning. I would guess those discussions would start with the premise that he is one of the leagues best WRs. That is still miles away from meaning a deal will actually get signed. This things sounds like its in the infancy of possibility.

Adams is playing some poker right now anyways. Letting the Packers know he wants to be a Packer, while also making sure they know he isnt going to stay here automatically as he tells the world it would be a dream to be reunited with Derrick Carr.
