As an aside, seeing as we allow for selection of the o-line as a collective group as well as individually, should we consider allowing ST as a collective selection? It's gotten to the point where the unit itself fits the "underdog" nature of this contest. Just a thought.

We can, but I am not taking them anytime soon.
Coverage has been OK. Punting has been very good. Field goals have been bad on snaps, holding, kicking and blocking. Worst of all there is no one competent to field punts or kickoffs.

I wouldn't even say coverage has been OK. For the prospect of occasionally tackling somebody at the 23, we routinely risk a 30 to 40 yard return.
I would be fine with somebody picking the STs but there ain't no
Desmond Howard coming off the bench.

We can discuss that in the off-season, I don't like messing with rules mid-season.
I am willing to listen. The reason OL is pickable as a group is that it's near impossible for individual linemen to shine, and the unit succeeds or fails as a unit. An RG can play the game of his life, and we wouldn't even notice if the RT sucked. There have been sooo many weeks when Bak has held the opponent to zero anything, best in the league stuff, and he wouldn't even enter the conversation. In super rare instances an individual OL can be a good pick, usually when a backup LT steps up to the challenge, but those occasions are super rare.
Kickers and returners can shine individually. Crosby can get votes if he nails difficult or high-pressure kicks, return one for a TD and the returner wins, the punter usually wins when the O and D lay an egg. That's why I don't think STs as a whole compare with OL.
There IS an argument to be made for coverage teams to be available as a unit. Impossible to shine individually there. If they force and recover a fumble, land punts at the 1, or recover an onsides kick, could be pick worthy. However, I don't see them getting picked often. What do you think?

Clark for destroying so many blockers?
Rodgers for getting back on track?
MVS for some big catches?

Yeah today it was our star players that were our best players. So if I have to pick one then I would say Clark because he was so dominant. If Preston was picked I would have gone that way.

Rodgers and Adams had big games but not big enough for this contest in my eyes.
It’s between Clark and MVS for me. Will hear some arguments before voting.

No way the O scores 30+ without MVS, the D still gave up 30+ even with Kennys play...I think MVS was more impactful.

MVS certainly did a lot of damage, but there were the 6 incompletions to go with 4 catches...
AR started slow, but kept us in the game.
I may have thrown a vote in Deguara's direction for the rare big TD, but no one picked him.
Preston Smith actually converted his pressures into sacks and forced a fumble , but no one picked him.
Kenny Clark giving that center a shaming of the season was beautiful, but it ultimately didn't result in that much damage. Not his fault tho.
My vote goes to MVS, I just love looooong TDs.

I'm going MVS. The incompletions weren't his fault. No matter how hard the announcers tried to make it sound like they were his fault.

I picked Clark so I can't vote for him. Can't vote fr MVS either, on most of those deep misses he was not open enough. I haven't watched the 2nd half yet. I pick Josiah Deguara. Not only for the TD, I saw him open a couple of times when Rodgers went to someone else (and missed).

Those deep misses were misses because they shouldn't have been thrown in the first place.
They were give up balls Rodgers threw.

MVS, 4 for 123, could have been 6 for 200 if Rodgers wouldn't have played like some HS QB in the first half
we can't keep starting games so slowly and inept and expect to beat tough teams
