Honestly I don't think we need any of the three All-Pro's back this week. The Bears still suck, remember?

But, as mentioned in another thread, it'd be nice to get them back on the field to gradually work them back into playing shape. Just kind of ease them in a series at a time type thing. That'd be nice.

Not necessary, but nice.
Yeah getting guys used to hitting again is a big part of it.

I have to admit, it was funnier when I didn't know about Bears fans in eyeshot flipping him off and thought that it was him just gleefully throwing salt on the wound. Just rank disrespect for their entire franchise out of nowhere, like not even worthy of being on the field with him -- I think I'm just gonna make that my headcanon. 8-)

I mean I am literally that kid every time we play an NFC Championship game so I know his pain.
But if you record it and post it to YouTube, you're a douche.
Yeah. I don't know how to even do that sort of thing.

But most importantly, I prefer for people to not see me in Packer mode. I'm not there for people's entertainment.
I appreciate some people sharing their enthusiasm. Especially when it leads to memorable honest reactions.

I'd be a booooring reactor. On a winning TD, I'd lift an eyebrow and then think it over, see whether there's a flag and then only when confirmed, I'd go nuts.

I want to know why the networks keep putting us against the bares on national tv every flippin' year. I'm sure if we don't screw up we win but the bares are pretty bad and have been for a several years. The game will probably end up a real snoozer.

I'm never confident of anything the week prior to Bears-Packers games. I don't believe that the Packers really deserve to be 11.5 point favorites. I sure hope I am wrong. I'd rather to see a tight WIN, combined with NO INJURIES ..... that a double digit WIN with INJURIES.

This is the game for Mason Crosby.............I can feel it.

The whole review and flag process has definltely changed things.

Like I went bazurk when Savage intercepted the ball in MN. So when it gets taken back...huge, huge let down.

just saw this, didn't look up who we lost to the last couple years out of the bye, but it's time to break that trend, Bares havn't won in Lambeau in 5 years so we should extend that one.

Since hiring Matt LaFleur, the Packers are 0-2 coming out of the bye.

Misleading stat.

2-2 coming off byes if you include playoffs.

right, I think the point though is that we come out of the regular season bye in the fashion we start a lot of games, slowly, but I'd have to go back and rewatch those losses to be sure.

After the bye...

In 2019, we got steamrolled by SF, the same year they went to the Super Bowl. In 2020, we got steamrolled by the Bucs, the same year they won the Super Bowl.

The only logical conclusion at this point is that we're going to get steamrolled by the Bears and that the Bears are on their way to the Super Bowl.

@San Diego and @Tampa Bay, two of our worst regular season games under LaFleur.

But weren't these 2 loses coming out of a bye on the road?

The Pack has been good at securing the ball. As good as ever. Maybe even better.

Da Bears are not a good turnover-creating defense. And their entire team is playing bad. But this still is a divisional game.

I'd be very disappointed if we get sloppy with the ball. Assuming we don't, we should squeak this out by 20 points or so.

;-)

that was my point, we didn't play as well as we normally do.

I got your point, but I think that article was being disingenuous to get a 'fun stat' rather than simply trying to be accurate, we are 2-2 out of bye weeks. Undefeated at home after by weeks. I would frankly think that would be more relevant, home vs. away, than regular season vs. playoffs.

Either way, I think it means nothing for the most part.

Let's just go kick the Bares asses.

of course lets just kick the &%$@ out of the Bares, that goes without saying :aok:

but I'am still wondering why you keep equating losses after a regular season bye with playoff losses after a bye, to me there is a different urgency involved, losing a regular season game is typically not a one and done affair, sure playing in Lambeau gives the team a advantage, and obviously it should help us beat the Bears.

but your the guy who changed the goal post here, the article simply stated that under Lafluer we have not done well after the bye, and that part is true.

I actually think there is some merit to both points. A Bye Week is a Bye Week, but yeah, certainly a play-off game is treated with a different level of importance compared to a regular season game.

The point that BF004 raised, though, also carries a ton of weight with me. This is a home game. Our two regular season losses have been on the road where it is already tough to win, anyway. Lose this game and I think it's time to say we have a problem. As for now, I expect this to kind of alleviate all of the post-Bye Week blues theory.

Justin Fields will start for the Bears in Week 14 against the Packers.

Andy Dalton was dreadful against the Cardinals. He managed just 229 yards on 41 attempts (5.6 yards per attempt) and tossed four interceptions. Fields hasn't played all that well this season, and shares some of Dalton's accuracy and decision-making question marks. However, Fields offers the Bears a mobile option that could open up the Bears' offense. Matt Nagy will decline that option, as he has all season, but Fields does at least provide upside as a scrambler. Fields will be a QB2 against the Packers.
TBH, I'd rather see Fields than the Red Rocket anyway. The Red Rocket at least has the potential to be a competent QB. I have significantly less faith in Fields in that regard.
