Packers Mocks Around the Media

I just don't see how Dotson is on the Packers radar in the 1st. 2nd maybe. Too many mocking him to us.

Given our history, everyone listed above will not be our pick.
So here is a list of guys not consensus top 10 and who were not mentioned.

Kaiir Elam. Not hearing his name associated with the Packers enough.BF004 wrote: ↑05 Apr 2022 12:17Given our history, everyone listed above will not be our pick.

I've looked at CB's very little, but who would be a good fit? Someone who can play the slot, star, more physical guy, good athlete, etc.
Definite DB need in general. Our top 5 possibly the best in football, pretty baron after that.

I admit, I'm a bit worried about the Jaire situation. I do still think, and hope an extension gets done. But not sure its a foregone conclusion anymore. We re-signed Rasul, but that might only be a 1 or 2 year deal.
I'm still pretty high on Jean-Charles being a good slot option for us. But I'm fine stocking the cupboard with just about any type of DB we can get our hands on. Because it's all mostly up in the air after this season.

I don't see why you think the Rasul deal is only for 2 years--especially if we don't keep Jaire. It's a contract we CAN get out of after two years, but Douglas with a $10M cap hit in 2024 is by no means exorbitant unless his play falls off. If he's good, he's here 3 years.paco wrote: ↑05 Apr 2022 13:18I admit, I'm a bit worried about the Jaire situation. I do still think, and hope an extension gets done. Meaning we have 3 years with Douglas locked up and Stokes on a rookie deal. I desperately want to keep Jaire and think he's worth the money, but we have to do it now, while we still have the benefit of matching "new money, new years" instead of a whole new deal being compared to Howard's new money/new deals.
In the draft, I've been looking primarily for slot defenders whose primary role outside of the slot is more likely to be safety than corner. That way he can compete with Jean-Charles for the role as a rookie, and can either be a 3rd safety or replace one of our starters if they depart in free agency.
Guys who fit that, to me are:
Dax Hill (1st)
Jalen Pitre (2nd)
Verone McKinley III (4th? 3rd?)
Cam Taylor-Britt (4th? 3rd?) (was a college corner but might be an NFL safety)
Alonte Taylor (4th/5th?) (also a college corner but I think moved some to safety already; good size but not enough mirror to stay at corner)

This is the first so far that I like.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑04 Apr 2022 14:44Joe Marino from The Draft Network, April 4
Of note, Burks goes between our picks. Ojabo goes after we pick Mafe.22. Packers
Chris Olave WR, Ohio State
I know the Packers never pick receivers in the first round but have you glanced at this Davante Adams-less depth chart? It's time for that change. Chris Olave is a dynamic route-runner and vertical threat that would give Aaron Rodgers a skill set that is currently missing in the receiver corps.
28. Packers
Boye Mafe EDGE, Minnesota
Green Bay has an emerging star in Rashan Gary, but there are question marks with the other edge-rushing options in the mix. Boye Mafe has elite physical gifts and was dominant at the Senior Bowl. He would allow Green Bay to get younger and more explosive in the front seven.
I said might be on Rasul. He could play out all 3 years, but that just doesn't happen a lot anymore. Regardless, at some point 1 or both of him and Jaire are gone. Get another body in the building now. Can't expect them all to do what Stokes did year 1.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑05 Apr 2022 14:33I don't see why you think the Rasul deal is only for 2 years--especially if we don't keep Jaire. Took my own advice and dug into the guys I don't see mocked to us as often.
I love Boye Mafe.
Amazing first step, has a ton of beautiful speed rushes and seems to have the strength to bull you right into the pocket and looks plus in the run game. Heavy strong hands.
Honestly reminds me of Gary.

I have been all over him. A little bit tough because he will take a little bit of time.

He will be. The production just isn't there to back everything up. I also watched every minute of that horrible Minnesota-Wisconsin game to close the schedule and I honestly cannot say I remember hearing his name once. He finished the day with two assisted tackles.

I would say I don't think production is bad.
5.5 sacks in 6 games in 2020 covid shortened year.
7.5 sacks in 12 games in 2021.
Sacks are a hit or miss stat, dependent on good coverage, luck, playcalls, etc. Few videos I watched he seems to be affecting the QB plenty.
Hard enough to get quality pressure stats in the NFL, but PFF gave him 26 last year.
How much exactly is a PFF account? I wonder if we could get one for the forum that a few guys chip in for.
Not just the grades, but they do give awesome stats, like snap counts and snap counts of where guys line up, etc.
Won't find this for everyone, but here is Mafe's

why do a year? most of what interest us happens in a 3 month span, course thats over 100 bucks, so 200 for 12 months is a huge savings, course PFF knows that Feb. to May is when most individual accounts receive the most traffic, and if your willing to pay 135 bucks for 4 months you'll drop another 60 for the full year membership.
they do provide all the data we like though with the elite package, pass pressure stats, individual OL blocking stats, targeted catches by receivers etc. count me in if we decide to do this.
I'd be in.
Just don't expect me to pull stats for you. I try to limit my stat participation to criticizing everybody else's data...
