Went for athlete over football player. Very anti-TT.

Quay was a good player on a great defense. Just not convinced of the need after resigning Campbell.
But thats also mainly because I still like Barnes and wouldnt have given up on him yet.
But again, idk what kind of pro Quay will be.

Unless that 4.3 is wrong, his shuttle isn't that impressive (not uncommon for corners/safeties either).
But a 6.89 3 cone is freak mode for anyone over like 220. Elite corners put up cones like that, not linebackers.

well don't forget to bring up that me and most of the football people felt he was reached for.

everyone is afraid to blast the pick because of future shame.
for me, im bummed about the WRs we have missed out on but not going to hate on Quay the player.

I wanted a guy like Quay Walker for so long... until we found De'Vondre Campbell and signed him to a big contract. I know we can play two and this makes our defense able to face multiple formations more easily, but everything we knew about premium positions just went out the window.

He looks quite good - will give us speed across the board with Dre at backer - expect a good pair.

lol it doesn't mean I didn't want to trade up for a WR but he looks the part of what we need over that middle. Speed, enough size, good program - we got back end protection with stokes and Jaire - now with Dre and this guy hopefully also takes away that short passing game that has plagued us.
We should have a dominant defence this year.

Yup. Honestly I have switched far more and 2021 showed it...it don't matter much if your offense sputters. As long as your defense holds the opponents to just 1 TD a game, you are always in the game.
This defense is at the point where we can likely expect to win games by just putting up 17 points.

Friends and family always ask my thoughts, pretty much always with this team, I’m always saying, not who I would have picked, but I’ll let you know in 3 years.
Same this year.
How can you not be excited for this d? That is all I’ve wanted since 2010 is an elite D.
Close in 2014 and we were probably the best team that year. We’ve had many years with average or bad D and great WRs and it’s never won us anything.
I’ll let you know in 3 years

Amen. I have lost faith in our "old way"
The years where I thought we had the legit shot to go all the way in January was 2010, 2011, 2014, 2020 and 2021.
I thought the best teams of those groups were 2014 and 2021 due to their defense being so good.
We are a better defense than the 2020 Bucs.

Whats the old way? We have never drafted a first WR over that period. We have drafted all defence except Sherrod and Love since 2011.

But we all know it’s disingenuous to say first WR when we’ve done so many 2nd rounders and so many turned out so good. And we extended every single one of them. We’ve probably had the best WR room on consistent basis since 2009 in the entire league. Find one better.
Now it has been very much neglected as of late; not gunna argue that. But that first round WR line is nothing but a fun talking point, because we have clearly not lacked WR talent till just recently.
